Neither performed at area.

I believe that the full prelims will be available on demand via NFHS right? Working to help our band load/unload and get their props on the field does not leave much time to watch all the other bands. But I caught up last year a few days later…lol. I wish they made the area prelims and finals available on demand too!

Would be a nice swap, but seriously they need to add three more teams to this division so they can send five bands to state - too many talented programs not to get one more in.

There are rumors that Rouse and Cedar Park may be moving up to 6a during the next alignment. If that’s true, it will be interesting to see where they are placed.

I was in class this morning so missed most of the performances. My wife told me that one group performed a show called Oculus, which she thought was amazing!

I wanted to thank everyone for their updates and comments. My son is in his first year of marching band, so all of this is new to me - and I am learning a lot from these posts. I do not understand the musicianship that is actually being judged, so it is interesting to hear the thoughts from those that do. I am blown away by the sheer amount of talented kids in this competition. But it seems like there are the perennial favorites who progress year after year, and that’s great for those programs - but who are the dark horses? Who could shock everyone this year and advance?
