UIL 6A Area C 2025

I mean they have some pretty difficult music so it makes sense they wouldn't sound as strong, these last couple weeks all devoted to cleaning should really help Berkner out. -

Also for all the High School students, Please thank your parents parent volunteers. All the waters, stage pushing, food supplying, everything. They work so hard behind the scenes and bratty teens that don't respect they shouldn't be something they have to deal with because they put in so much time. Giving up their Saturdays to help at contest or weekly football games. That's a huge commitment and they need to get recognized more often y'all. Love the band parents!!!! -

I haven't seen Rockwalls show but it surprises me that you are putting Berkner in 4th or 5th right there with rockwall. I know they finished well at at BOA Dallas but I don't think there show is strong enough to breach the top 4 and get a state slot. I think they are setting them selves up for a successful next season. -

The other unfortunate truth is area placements can decide if a school is going to make state. Royce City could easily make state in another area out in like west Texas or somewhere that isn't as competitive but they get thrown into a area with some power houses like Waxahachie and Forney. A lot of schools are much better than some of the lowest state bands but people never talk about them because they are in an unfortunate area where they don't get to see the State contest. -

Here are my predictions now that BOA has passed. 1. Waxahachie 2. Forney 3. Sachse 4. Rockwall 5. D-ville/Berkner 6. Berkner/D-ville 7. Lake Highlands 8. JJ Pearce 9. Rockwall Heath 10. Richardson I think both D-ville and Berkner have a shot at state if they have a good run or if any of the top 4 placements have something go wrong. Overall I think Waxahachie is a lock and Forney is a lock. 3rd and 4th could fluctuate depending on the day. I'll try to go to Birdville contest and see how things stand after that. -

Yeah that's true and they don't have their full show on the field yet, at BOA they finished with their Drum break. Also it sounded to me as if they had some timing issues, maybe not a great run from them. Also they had some sound issue that got fixed right before they started playing. Not sure what the issue was but I saw them working on it. -

I saw quite a few up in the separate form for that contest (Its labeled as Dallas not Bedford). Personally I don't keep up with BOA very much and don't know all the scoring areas so I am not the best person to talk on placements. The only people from this area I see making finals however would be Waxahachie and Sachse. I doubt anyone else even stands a chance. -

Anyone got a last minute prediction? I'm not super familiar with BOA scoring so I'm typically lost at these contest but I really enjoy the bands. -

Berkner and Lake Highlands still don't have money, Richardson and Peace have some extreamly loaded people at the schools. -

Plus the culture of a band really determines how well they will do. I've heard stories from people of the band hall in Flomo and Marcus how it is just constant noise and a line of 60 kids waiting to get a room to practice in. If every kid at your school is practicing 5/8 classes a day then of course your band is going to be cracked. It's all culture. -

Agreed, I think Lake Highlands is extremely strong early season but either just can't keep up the stamina or something like that. Some schools seam like they are sprinting the full year while others like lake Highlands do a 100 meter dash then kinda walk it off -

This might just be a personal thing but I've never really liked the Lake Highlands sounds. I don't know if it is the designers or the directors but I'm not a huge fan of it. Obviously they do well for themselves scoring wise but the judges are humans and will take into play personal enjoyment. -

Berkner at their comp made some big improvements from prelims to finals at their comp on Saturday. I believe they moved up 13 points in musicality and 15 points in visual excellence. They earned percussion cap in prelims and were 1 point off in finals. If they continue this trend things could look good for them. Maybe a placement or 2 away from state. -
It’s a good early marching season contest, I’ll be there Over all it’s been a great contest, some pretty strong bands for early season especially. Walnut grove sounded amazing. I look forward to seeing how they place in finals cause there is no way they don’t make finals.

Is anyone going to be at the Berkner Vs Little Elm game? I'd be interested in seeing how Berkner is preforming since their first game. Unfortunately Little Elm is a little to far away from me to justify going. -

I believe that is right. It's insane to me though that sachse over took Wax. I was looking over at the Wax band when they got called for 2nd place and a kid stood up to celebrate and the director told the 1 kid celebrating to sit down. -

Even if every school makes 1's at UIL I don't think there are enough. It's 1 spot for every 5 schools right? -
