The seniors last year who were freshmen during that season always talked about it like it was heck. It was the year we didn’t make state because of a tie.
-
Considering the amazing shows out of this area last year, I’m very excited to see how this area performs next year!
-
I’m happy that Barber’s Hill moved up! I remember in 2024 I saw their airplane show and I really enjoyed it. Excited to see how they do at Area
-
Area E bands at state. I got to see all but Pearland and Dickinson (I performed in Dickinson’s show), here are the results. 10. Pearland 27. Dawson 29. Dickinson 31. Clear Brook 39. Clements all bands did an outstanding job!
-
I guess I owe up now 😂
-
After seeing Pearland, I’d be comfortable betting money on Dawson making Area Champion
-
From what I saw, (I haven’t seen Pearland yet today), Dawson has a good shot, and I’ll be disappointed if Dawson doesn’t become Area E champion
-
How do we feel about the bands that have performed so far?
-
Seeing the surprising results from Saturday (Hebron and Vandegrift being overthrown), I’d say the results of Area E may be surprising. (Dawson 1st place?)
-
According to my band director, it’s the same exact schedule as Saturday except it’s on Monday. Unfortunately our band will not have busses the entire day so we are stuck at the stadium
-
Has the performance schedule been released yet for Area E?
-
I just looked at the score sheet from finals and prelims. Dickinson and Foster were both really close in scores, and SFA’s score dropped considerably from prelims to finals. Dickinson’s also dropped somewhat significantly while Fosters stayed relatively same. I think this shows consistency from their band members and hopefully they can clean it to be in better competition to make a state spot. Although BOA judges very differently compared to UIL and UIL is changing the judging system to be identical to state. Anything could happen this year. I think 3-5 placements will be a bloodbath this year.

Here’s my prediction based on my marching season and scores from other competitions. Keep in mind you might disagree. I’m only doing top 6 1. Pearland 2. Dawson 3. SFA 4. Dickinson 5-6. Brook/Lake

Does anyone know how many bands will be at area this year?

Dickinson High School’s finals performance at BOA last night.

My Predictions: 1. Bridgeland 2. Cy-Fair 3. Cy-Woods 5. Friendswood 6. College Park 7. Cinco Ranch 8. North Shore 9. Dickinson 10. Clear Brook 11. William B. Travis 12. Churchill Fulshear some of these may be hot takes -
It should, Part 5 (the closer) is really short. Part 4 is really amazing though I can’t wait for y’all to see and hear it!
-
Our show has 5 parts, we have learned all the way to half of Part 2. I’d say we have some cleaning to do still but honestly our show is turning out very nice, and we have all of our equipment early except props.
-
Our band had our squad competition today, each section performs all of the show that we have learned so far separately, we had to move it into the gym and do stepouts and play.
-
Yeah, we’re marching at much faster tempos so straight leg will be easier to march and clean
-
I’m really impressed with how much they’ve put on the field. My band in this area just finished adding choreo into our opener today. We are marching and performing much harder drill and music though.

2025 BOA South Houston (Oct. 4)

Let’s also not forget Pearland -
Hey guys, been a while since this thread has been active. How have y’all’s summer band camps been? Recently the biggest challenge at my band camp is the switch from bent leg marching to straight leg marching, but I think I’m finally getting the hang of it. Any other bands in Area E that do straight leg marching?

2025 BOA Shenandoah (Sept. 27)

The stadium is home to Oak Ridge High School, Grand Oaks High School, The Woodlands High School, and The Woodlands College Park High School -
Oh wow! Ours only gets that expensive for our new members because they have to buy flip folders, marching shoes, etc. but our color guard fees are INSANE! $300 for the color guard uniform, plus the $350 participation fee, and then another participation fee for the winter guard season.
