So happy for Boston for finally winning a gold medal, it was only a matter of time before they got there! This season was really awesome and I can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store for DCI

I’d expect United’s show to be entitled Midnight Mirage and have a ‘synth wave’ styled show. Cool concept! Another speculation but expect Los Fresnos’ show to be called “Wayfarers”. PSJA announced their show to be “Transcendence”. I’d look out for them this year! San Benito is performing “Snapshot” but that’s all I know right now. Best of luck to all of these bands, some awesome shows coming along this year!!

Exactly my thoughts about Hanna, that on/off comment was kinda weird, they are always consistently good. I’m really excited to see the competition for that #3 spot, ESPECIALLY if there are 3 bands that make it (would love to see that happen). I do see Harlingen making a comeback though, they have the players just haven’t had the best design recently. I don’t doubt that they will come back strong and make finals this year, they are a pretty historically strong program!

I want to take a second to mention Music City and their ability to make entertaining shows year after year. Great design team over there in my opinion, and a good brass line this year. Another corps that also had my attention was Gold. That show was awesome and it didn’t feel like an open class show. Great sounds so far this year.

Another very competitive region! That 7th spot for finals is going to be a huge battle. There’s like 3 bands that could be on the cusp of making it and it’s going to be very tough. And again, Harlingen has been out of finals for 2 years in a row, I don’t doubt that they are really hungry for another finals/maybe state run. That’s mainly why I have them in finals. They do great for the amount of people in the band!

It’s going to be an extremely competitive year for 5A. Very excited to see what this competition produces in terms of shows. This is going to be such a fun year for marching band in Area G both conferences.

Despite being biased, I feel like Hanna will hold onto their 2nd spot. Maybe not 1st but 2nd for sure. They have great leadership/drum majors and overall are just consistent. Alexander’s show looks extremely entertaining and I really can’t wait to see what they put out. “beyond the break” just has such a cool ring. I also think Harlingen will get back into finals this year. Good predictions!

Roma dominant as always. Very great brass line they have there. Sharyland schools are also very easy picks. Me personally I have Lopez and Pace going 4 and 5 (may be Brownsville bias lolll)

Part of me is hoping BAC and Bloo tie for 1st because of how good their shows are. I can’t pick a winner this year it’s extremely competitive!

Yes! If there is a tie for 12th place, both corps will perform the next day for finals. Looked it up and it has happened before. Would not mind having an extra band at finals.

A bonus is that a lot of the lower corps are GREAT this year. Even the All Age corps are doing amazing. Music City, Gold, Crossmen, Genesis, you name it. This is going to be a great year for DCI.

It may not be crazy to say we might get a full on anti-sweep of the captions. In my predictions after a few weeks of DCI season and watching shows I think that: Zingali Colorguard - Blue Devils Sanford Percussion - SCV (awesome show) General Effect - Bloo Ott Brass - Crown I think Boston will not win an award (but cut close with SCV for Stanford) but will medal gold or silver.

Dude, you need to hear them in person. Pace high brass is killer. And with Sharyland, they’ve always come up with cool quirky show themes that just work perfectly. One thing I like about them is their use of trombones previous years. Me personally, I also see Lopez making it because of their overall brass sound. Hoping for Brownsville to be better represents this year!

My Freshman year at state they used Box 5 and it was awesome. Sophomore year is when they switched to NFHS and I felt that it had issues with video quality. This past year was the worst one of them all in my opinion

Speaking of the mics breaking, I hope they can figure that issue out. Was kind of annoying last year looking back at my bands state recording. What ever happened to Box5 ?

I don’t know if previous guy has listened to any of Pace’s shows, but their high brass (to me) is one of the strongest in the valley. I think their selections really highlight that. I’ve personally always loved Pace (even as a Hanna alum) and have hoped to see them make it to the State competition. I also wanna see how Sharyland does next year. Usually love their shows.

My Senior Year show was a similar concept to this! I love love love boat props in marching band because of that show. Can’t wait to see it.
