Looks like Sulphur Springs may be staying in 4A with 1,254.5 students -
It will be a good year to just enjoy this group of bands at 4A state because from what it sounds could be huge changes at the top of 4A next year.
-
I could see Canyon making top 5 this year. I think Randall and West Plains will struggle to make finals this year.

Good morning band kids and band parents. Hopefully today and the others dates for area is filled with a lot of fun and healthy competition. Good luck to all bands who perform and let the best bands win. It can be a stressful day for the kids and the parents but remember to enjoy it. -

Good luck to all of Area A today. May the force be with you and the best 5 advance. But great job to all the bands who have made it this far. -
Randall performed in the heaviest rains at Area A last year and it was maybe the best performance of the year for them
-
I think more likely is the morning session gets delayed an hour or 2 and they maybe do prelims only like last year.

Out of selfishness I would like to see Hereford and Dumas go with the Canyon schools to represent the Panhandle -
If Area A gets postponed, which I think the weather is going to hold up throughout the day to allow for it on Saturday, it would be moved to Sunday according to the UIL website. This is from Region A website Be advised that we are monitoring the possibility of rain on Saturday, October 25. Bands will continue to march in light rain. We will initiate delays for heavy rain, lightning, or dangerous winds. If the contest cannot continue, we will push to the INCLEMENT WEATHER DATE - October 26.

It's a tricky situation for them. You go ahead and reschedule for let's say a Sunday or Monday but what happens if by Friday the rain is out of the forecast. Then all the schools have to reschedule hotel rooms, take care of buses if they were using school buses, taking kids out of school on Monday and for some maybe they get in late on Monday night with school on Tuesday. Ultimately you want it to run on Saturday so it's best to wait till the last minute to make your decision. Being a band parent where we played Area a few hours away from the school you realized it was a risk. Our area last year was miserable because it rained and was cold all day. Thankfully they held out because they got it all done on Saturday.

I could see Andrew’s making it. I haven’t gotten to see as many bands as I usually do.
