  1. Ah ok yes thats great to hear, 6 state spots is very exciting!
  2. Hi, do ya'll mind explaining the state spots being 5 cause I'm a bit confused with how the rules work. If I counted correctly, 31 bands recieved 1s for this area. Then, the new Gene Tomas school was non-varsity for their 1st year so i think that means they don't count for area advancement and/or the number of state spots. So now it is 30 which would mean 6 spots I think. Military bands do count toward the number, but is it true that bands that choose not do do area or military events sanctioned by uil, do not count towards the area number and state spots? If that is the case, then which bands are not participating in uil marching related events after region evaluations? I can think of a few bands do not always go such as nederland or dayton.
  3. Here is the schedule: Contest is at Ray Maddry Stadium
  4. To those watching the Nfhs stream, has the second block been freezing and lagging for y'all?
  5. Finals Schedule 7:45 Spring Woods HS 8:00 Thomas Randle HS 8:15 Porter HS 8:30 La Porte HS 8:45 Galena Park HS 9:00 Brenham HS 9:30 Kempner HS 9:45 Angleton HS 10:00 Barbers Hill HS 10:15 Friendswood HS 10:30 College Station HS 10:45 A&M Consolidated HS
  6. I think that Brenham might have a chance since they did well at last year's area contest and then Galena Park too maybe. I'm hearing that the judging was interesting at the Channelview contest, but GP did barely beat Angleton in prelims and then placed much higher in finals.
  7. 1 Barbers Hill HS 2 Pasadena Memorial HS 3 Clear Falls HS 4 J. Frank Dobie HS 5 Porter HS 6 Galena Park HS 7 La Porte HS 8 New Caney HS 9 Deer Park HS 10 Sam Rayburn HS
  8. Not sure, but they said they made a tabulation error when listing the corrected schedule just before finals. heard that Galena Park got 10th in prelims but because of the announcement they decided to have all 11 bands peform
  9. This was the announced finals schedule 7:15 Summer Creek HS 7:30 New Caney HS 7:45 La Porte HS 8:00 Pasadena Memorial HS 8:15 Deer Park HS 8:30 Clear Falls HS 8:45 Porter 9:00 J. Frank Dobie HS 9:15 Barbers Hill HS 9:30 Sam Rayburn HS However I'm also hearing that there was an error and Galena Park HS is a finalist performing at 7:45
