    Just some things to note here: - Dawson winning woodwinds in prelims, then brass in finals - Clements winning brass and getting 12th in perc in prelims while being 5th overall - Foster not making finals and getting 17th??? - Top 5 staying the same between prelims and finals - Elkins(the goats🐐) perc finishing top half in 5th - 3 bands tied for 8th place - Clear lake getting 10th due to tie breaking rules while not placing below 9th in any caption

    Since the judging will be split up into brass, woodwinds, percussion, and visual, there technically will be caption winners even if they won't be announced. Who do yall think will win each? My predictions: Brass - Pearland/Dawson WW - Pearland/Dawson Perc - Pearland/Dawson/Brook Visual - Pearland/Dickinson

    Unfortunately yeah, just didn't wanna leave PM and SC out of my predictions. Honestly they might make lower half for finals. Just kinda goin with my gut here with these lol

    Imma say that this year is just unpredictable as any other year for area E, but I was honestly having trouble putting together a prediction list. Knowing how judging is here along with the new rubrics they're using, this feels like a shot in the dark. But after thinking for a while, this is what I came up with.     Here are the 2025 registration fees from the BOA website: • All one-day Regionals - $875. • Super Regional Championship - $925. • Grand National - $975.

    Sorry I mean to put Shadow Creek in that second to last sentence lol. Honestly I'm sure Dawson could take a strong 2nd at Area like last year. Shadow Creek is also looking like they could get in the bottom half of finals.

    Honestly, I see where you're coming from. I saw the livestream of dawson and shadow creek. I thought that Dawson's show design was great. Their music sounds very good and they have a lot of hard things in their show. However, visual they are pretty dirty. Lots of out of time feet and visuals. But you do have to give them credit for the difficulty of their show. They have a lot of very large forms that cover the field as well as a lot of circles in their drill, which are notoriously hard to clean. I think that they'll be able to clean this up as the season goes on. I bet that they're just trying to get as much of their show on the field right now for the upcoming competitions. Looking at Shadow Creek though, they're looking and sounding pretty good. I bet that we might see them at Area finals.

    Do you know what competition's finals they will participate in? They seem to have a good shot at taking gold at Alvin and making finals for North Houston.

    We also have a few bands from this area going to BOA North Houston this Saturday. This'll be a good chance to see how well they stack up against the other bands there. We'll also get an early read on how well they are doing competitively in relation to eachother. Dickinson-9:24AM Shadow Creek-10:00AM Clear Brook-1:12PM Churchill Fulshear-1:48PM

    Well see how they do by area. We're still early in the season with most bands barely getting their ballad on the field without the met, much less thier closer. Honestly it's too early to say who will beat who. Things will change. Bands will get cleaner, props will be added, choreo and music will be added and some will get cut. But given their track record, It'd be safe to say that they'll be in the top 4 along side Clear Brook, Dickinson, and Pearland. In the though it will be the judges who will decide that order. From what I've seen, I think Pearland will take 1st like they always have, and the rest of the state spots will be fought for tooth and nail. With the recent change in the judging we can only guess what the results will be.
