UIL 6A Area B 2025
CosmicLimbo replied to BandNerd07's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
While I’m here 1: Coppell: the kings of Area B for almost the last decade. Don’t see that changing this year. 2/3: Bell or Keller: this is my favorite Bell show in a while, especially the Vivaldi stuff and think they can overtake Keller with a good run. 4: Timber Creek: Out of all the bubble bands here, they feel the most complete to me and I can’t see them missing. 5: SLC: I love what they do visually and with the right run could be state bound. 6: Keller Central: I always see KC around this spot, always in finals but somehow always outside the top 4. I wonder what it is they need to fully break through as I always enjoy their shows. 7/8: Lake Ridge/SGP: SGP has beat Lake Ridge this year and KC but I’m hesitant to immediately put them in front of KC or Lake Ridge as area finals will be uncharted waters for them and both Lake Ridge and KC have been here before many times (would love to be wrong about this btw no shade at all to SGP)! 9/10: Trinity/Haltom -

I don’t know if they’ll make state but I definitely think they have a good shot at finals. Wouldn’t consider that a fluke, they’ve been on a steady upwards trajectory for a while -

I was having trouble with this as well. I only have Sachse above them right now due to historical trends but I wouldn’t be surprised if this were flipped -

1. Wax 2. Forney 3. Sachse 4. Rockwall 5. Heath (I think next year will be their year) 6. Berkner 7. Lake Highlands 8. Dville: pains me to put my Alma mater this low and I hope I’m wrong, but I think they’ll be fine next year once the program settles into the staff changes 9. Richardson 10. Tyler legacy, North forney, or JJ Pearce -

The marching arts have just evolved a lot since then. I think all those programs you mentioned are all still strong and do great things, there’s just a lot more depth in these areas now so areas are not as top heavy as they used to be. -

Just saw Dvilles closer and it’s super cool! I tend to agree with a lot of the other posts in that this year just may not be their year, but that closer is special. Excited for area good luck to all the participating bands! -

Ahhh yes back when Timber Creek lost that tie breaker to go to state, this area was really something else that year man -

Both programs with new head directors. They’ll both be cooking -

Yeah Sachse is going to be hard to beat this year. Crazy demand in their music book with all those runs and they’re already handling it nicely! And was that a screamer I heard? Oh boy can’t wait to see the finished product of this show -

Now that it seems that the fire over at Dville seems to have been extinguished, anyone know anything about their show and how they’re doing? All I know is what the show is called but nothing about the music selection or anything like that. -

To be fair there wasn’t really much else to talk about during the off season. Definitely looking forward to this season though 💪🏽 -
I got a few Seven Lakes: Great show last year and I think they’ll build off of that and return for an even stronger season. Forney: My current favorites to win Area C. I think they’ll take advantage of the chaos happening in Area C and hopefully challenge for finals at state. Braswell: Probably one of my favorite shows last season. If they were in any other area, I think they make state. Hopefully they can break through this time. LD Bell: They’ve been cycling threw off years and on years for the last decade. I’m hoping they lick their wounds and come back swinging in Area B Round Rock: Not sure if “dark horse” is the correct term for them as we all know they’re good. I’m just hoping for a little extra from them seeing as this is a grand nats year for them.

Looks like the district is holding a meeting tomorrow about this. I know most people on here aren’t affiliated with Duncanville’s program but any support would be greatly valued and appreciated! -

It looks like he was forcefully forced to resign according to reputable sources I know in the program. This was Mr. Teals post on Facebook a couple days ago. -
Ehhh this is just speculation on my part but DMI is one of the program’s biggest fundraising generators so I’d be surprised if admin chooses to ax it. This is just such a sad case, I just cannot possibly see how any of this benefits the kids in any way shape or form. It’s not like the kids were pushing for this, considering they advanced to state this year, had 7 all staters, and were at Music For All’s national convention. If that’s not a good year I don’t know what is. I’m still holding onto hope for a positive outcome but this has really been bumming me out…

Wow. I have so many thoughts about this. I have to go to work but all I can say right now is that this is awful and breaks my heart as an alumni, and as someone that owes a lot of who I am to this program. Duncanville is a pioneer to the marching arts here in Texas and has way too much history to go down in this fashion. -

It’s honestly tough to tell until we actually see them on the field. I’ve seen director changes significantly hurt programs and I’ve seen programs not skip a beat and actually improve drastically as a result of director changes so there’s no real way to know until the season starts. I’m of the opinion that schools like Sachse and Waxahachie will be fine as I think they both have strong foundations and principles that they abide by and things may not be as volatile as we think. I could be wrong though who knows (not that I want to be wrong of course). -

Wait so did Waxahachie lose Armstrong? Anyone able to confirm who/if Waxahachie is having director changes?
