As a band dad for a Harker Heights sousa player I hope that Harker Heights can make it to finals. They were overall third or the first alternate last year area D. I know that a lot of bands were not competing last year but they are a decent band. And they keep getting better as the season goes on. 

No one is going to talk about round rocks closer? It might be the most ambitious music I have ever heard them play

Good Luck to all the 6A Bands in Area D on Saturday!  Should be some beautiful weather for marching bands!

They also made state in the first year of their existence! In a Covid year! 

BTW, Lake Belton made history tonight. Well, they tied for it which is making state finals in the 2nd year of existence. They share that now with Lake Ridge 2013. Funny how the 2 schools that hold this, has the same first name.

Argyle is now the most winningest band program in Texas with 8 State championships

Hebron Appreciation Thread: The Drinking Game

Lamenting Hebron's absence from Grand Nats this year = 2 shots

Just wanted to put this post up to rave how amazing Hebron was this year. As a former Vandegrift alum who went there from 2016 - 2019, I have to say this was easily the greatest marching band show of all time. These kids sounded like a DCI group. I've never heard such a rich tone, powerful low brass, and technical proficiency from a high school group before and I just want to say thank you to all of the Hebron kids who just redefined how good a high school marching band can be. You've changed marching band forever and have taken this amazing art form we all love to a whole new level. You guys should feel like rockstars after performing that show and like I said before, thank you for all your hard work. You guys are the Michael Jackson's of marching band and   pulled off the greatest marching band show of all time.

Argyle would compete well with similar sized schools. Their percussion alone would fit in with the big dogs already. They are very UIL-minded and would have to make some changes to adapt to BOA. It's just not cost effective for small schools in Texas to do both. But congrats to Argyle for becoming the leader in UIL championships all-time this week. 

I mean, Argyle would easily beat Norwin if they went.
