Same! I think that M&G was cleaner than Reagan, but I really liked Reagan’s show. Both had good visuals.

I really enjoyed Westwoods show. Very entertaining and they sounded great! I loved the Red Riding Hood theme.

That’s kind of what I was thinking. Wondering why some bands don’t use props. Wouldn’t that just enhance the show more?

Hopeful! Driving through San Marcos now and it looks like the sun is trying to come out. The forecast is different every time I watch the news, so I have no idea what to expect.

Do props add to the score? For example some bands have a ton of props, while others have none. Does having no props hurt the visual or GE scores?

I feel like the Woodlands show didn’t have very much complex drill in it. Definitely featured the amazing guard, but the band was kind of like an afterthought IMO. I really enjoyed the performance. It was just different than I had expected.

I really enjoyed Seven Lakes show! Loved the Metallica hit! Idk how these judges are going to pick a winner.

Does anyone have predictions yet? I haven’t seen any of the Dallas area bands, so I can’t make a fair assessment.

i got chills watching their show. That music is beautiful. And those wings at the end! They have cleaned alot since TMC. i also really enjoyed Dripping Springs show. And CTJ is much improved. Love the color ribbons at the end! Honestly, all the banda did an outstanding job.

Did anyone catch Cedar Ridge? How did they do?

I agree about this year’s show being harder. It’s different from the last few years for sure. They just learned the last part of the show last week like Im sure most of the other bands did as well. I am loving the music and the angels wings at the end. Will be interesting to see how the show evolves. Having 2 new directors (head and woodwinds) may also play a factor. Sea like lots of director changes lately. It’s definitely a demanding job.

What do you mean by “freewheeling”? Like improv?

Agreed! Most of the bands are behind because of the heat related regulations and missed out on valuable outside drill time. Some of the bands who normally have their entire show down are still learning drill this week. It will be interesting to see how everyone does this weekend. I think we are definitely in for some surprises.

That closer at the end of Vista Ridge was the bomb! Definite mic drop moment

It was during Reagan’s show. We thought it was an extra bass drum at first and then they started exploding one after the other.

Wow Leander sounded amazing! The brass was on fire. Loved all the calming blue colors in the show. Great job!

I hope that person is ok. He was on the ground and looked unconscious, not moving. He had to be carried off. Prayers that he/she is ok.

Hebron just blew my eardrums out! They were awesome! Loved that visual with the moving circle!

The Bridgeland guard was massive and amazing! Really enjoyed their show!

Round Rock sounded amazing! Loved that mini trombone solo!!! Tonight’s judges are going to have a hard time scoring everyone.
