I'm going for an alto sax solo playing Diversion by Bernhard Heiden.

That's kinda depressing, lol. I just started taking lessons, so unless the guy thinks I should move up to TMEA, I'll just stick to ATSSB.

I understand where you're coming from. I would say not to quit though. I guarantee you'll miss it alot. There's alot of times I want to quit, especially this year. We have a tiny band where no one cares. More than half the people are just in it for the letterman, I'm not to fond of well... lets just say the director at all, we play grade 1 music cause we have 8th graders, we get 3's and 4's, etc. There's just alot of reasons. But I stay cause I have a love for music, and if you have a love for music and what you do everyday in band, then I would say to stay in. Cause chances are, you'll really miss it if you don't. Also region/state and solo and ensemble, and just individual stuff you get to do make it worth it.

We're supposed to have a jazz themed show... ehhh :/

As far as I know, me and Whitewingz have been the only ATSSB (3A and below) kids on here forever. So do we have anyone else now? As fun as it is talking and hearing about bands I'll never get to see , It'd be cool to talk about some good small school bands too. *Also, question for anyone who's tried out for all-region in ATSSB and TMEA: How much harder is the competition? Both my band director and my uncle (who's a 5A director in Laredo), want me to try out on the TMEA track next year. But it's my senior year... and I don't want to go and get killed if I don't have a chance. So yeah, just wondering if anyone else has done that.

I havn't even got to try it yet! I use folded paper. It's kinda annoying... but it works.

I'll be at the ATSSB concerts for sure. And hopefully the 4A and 5A ones if we can get in without tickets... lol.

Never gone But I'm going to the concerts this year. Will I get caught tonight?
