Not accurate at all. Check the previous thread as general consensus was that there was harsher judging in the morning. -

Early morning time slot mixed with more critical and reserved judging in the morning compared to later in the afternoon where judging appears more relaxed. -

Sport is sport and these kids deserve to be seen as any other sport college football, professional football, or highschool football.. In ALL sport there is a desire and root for the underdog. Only hear do people get all worked up for th status quo. -

It's not different than rooting for the underdog in any sport. -

How is hoping we see some new bands instead of the same old guard out of line? -

Fine arts director doesn't always mean they know anything about music. He might, but many don't as they come from theatre or educational backgrounds.

So how or who fixes this?

My understanding is Keller fourth part fell apart and they never recovered.

Completely disagree. BOA is the professional sport of the Marching heavy weights. Professional sports have had salary caps for years. No one denied that the players or kids in this case work their butts off. Yes, the kids work very hard for all programs. I would never say they did not, but when you start looking at props and the written program you cannot get those without major expenses. Writer don't come cheap and the best only work for the ones who are the best and that includes how much their paid.

I'm curious about those judging sheets, I assume these are only available to the directors? I always wondered why we see consistant scoring and then more often than one not you have this one judge as we used to say, smoking crack, with a wildly different scoring. Perhaps we should starting throwing out the high and low? -

There are a reason there are salary caps in professional sports. This is detrimental to the health of competition in the end and breads apathy. I see it in football. Teams, fans, schools stop caring because what is the point and the money dries up and competition disapears. It becomes nothing more than just a rotation of the haves and the have nots are left on the sideline... Such is life though I guess. You see it in class discussions, taxing discussions, too big to fail. -

I know finals is still going on, but speaking with the kids, some band parents across a few bands that did not make it into finals. Some of them are starting to wonder what is the point of SABOA and State if its the same bands year and year out. Bias, money, and juding inconsistancy is starting to build up. -
