This could be a great year for some bands! I believe that some new bands, possibly Godly and Bridge City could make State for the first time! Since Area A is the only Area to have their lineup, there is a possible chance that only one band is going to state since only 9 bands have officially qualified for the 2020 UIL 4A Area A contest. If anything does change, then it will be known after this Saturday, November 14th. I will be making a video soon on Area A and what could be expected based on Regional results!
This is the official scedule for Area A, only 9 bands have advanced, but it looks like they may be sending two bands instead of 1!
Godley has the Region competition on Saturday. They beat Alvarado in Sound of Springtown and came within 8 points of beating Kennedale and placed 5th! Area D’s Competition isn’t til December 5th. -

based on what I have seen, it looks like Area D will be able to advance up to 6 bands if most of the bands make it from Region to Area. This will make it interesting to see who does make it to Area since a good amount of bands could make it to state if Area gets a lot of bands.

4A Area B will be in Princeton at Princeton HS. Region 25 will be at the Celina ISD Stadium in Celina. All 6 bands for 4A will be competing
All Region 30 bands are performing in Springtown this year at POJO Stadium. 2-2A Schools, 4-3A Schools, 7-4A Schools, 1-5A School and 1-6A School. By default, the 6A band(which normally gets good ratings yearly anyway) will automatically advance. There’s usually more 5A and 6A bands in our Region to compete and we usually have separate venues, because of it, one for the 2A-4A bands and the other for the 5A/6As, but 99% of our 5A/6A bands said in competition this year.

Anybody else have any news from their respective regions? I also just found out that the Area D competition will be the same location for 4A and 6A due to lack of participation.

The Alvarado Golden Warrior Band is set to start practice again Monday AFTER SCHOOL @ 4p. It’s gonna be that way Monday-Thursday all the way through the end of marching season AND no practice in the morning during the school days.

No, I know region 10's deadline is on the 23rd.
This was Godley’s performance in week 7 of 4A football. It’s not their full show. They’re doing very good! They were not able to go to the Ferris game last week and have a bye week this week, so we’ll see what the FULL SHOW looks like against Hillsboro on October 30th. No update as to where Alvarado(Al-vah-ray-doh) stands in their quarantine and its official now that Castleberry WILL NOT be participating in the 4A State Year.

I didn't see any videos of Stephenville or Sunnyvale. Must of changed since I last looked. Also rip Castleberry if they don't compete. They have been very well every state year
Don’t give up on Kennedale or Springtown and Godley’s looking to strike this year. Godley’s already sounding amazing AND had one clinic already. Plus, GISD had an in-school calendar 2 week intermission at the beginning of this month and Godley had October band camp under UIL rules of course and had the man that wrote the drill clinic for them at the end of camp, anyone wanting to see part of this year’s show for them can YouTube “2020 Pride of Godley”. Now, with the problem that has popped up with Alvarado, they’re an amazing band and we have no clue how far along they actually are in the practice of their competing show, so for them, losing any practice is no good for a State year. Glen Rose and Lake Worth both made 1s last year, but got a 2 in 2018, they can swing either way this year depending on how hard they want it and how they practice. Venus is out in left field and hasn’t gotten 1s in awhile.

No Castleberry?! oh boy
As of right now, there is no evidence of them performing in UIL this year, but I’m watching the results forms very carefully. The entry deadline for Region 30 has just past(Friday, October, 16th). There’s some trouble that has popped up for the Alvarado Golden Warrior band as of late as well. 3 band members have tested positive for COVID and the band is in quarantine for at least Saturday, October, 24th. According to AISD, if anymore band members come back positive, they’re gonna extend it to Halloween. They won’t be able to extend it any farther, because Alvarado has a competition in Springtown on November 7th(Sound of Springtown) and then the UIL Competition November 14th.

Ferris isn’t competing this year either. According to the official UIL Result Forms, Stephenville and Sunnyvale are competing, didn’t see Waco La Vega or Silsbee, Iowa Park is competing this year as well. I messed up on Region 30, FW Castleberry isn’t competing this year as of yet, but everyone else in that Region(which go to Area D) are.

Any 4A bands NOT competing this year? All of Region 30(Alvarado, Castleberry, Glen Rose, Kennedale, Springtown, Godley, Venus and Lake Worth) are all competing, but are there any in other regions that aren’t?
