Those are my personal predictions for top 5.

Congrats to absolutely everyone. My favorites, Coppell and Duncanville, didn't do as they would have liked, but they both had one heck of a show and a wonderful time. HUGE props to Vista Ridge on an incredible feat. My heart has so much love and gratitude for all the bands that perform for us every year.

WOW! Hebron, Vandegrift, Coppell, Woodlands, Westlake, Cedar Ridge, Marcus, Hendrickson, James Bowie, Hendrickson, and Leander just blew me away. 
 
Looking forward to seeing my band (Duncanville) put on a great show soon! 
 
I really thought that Vandegrift showed up. Great musical selections. They have an amazing chance to medal. 
 
Coppell today showed that they are ready to hang with the big boys (Marcus, Leander, and Woodlands). I mean their visual is just WOW!
 
Leander never fails to impress me, incredible opener. I look forward to hopefully seeing them in finals. Amazing musical selections!
 
Marcus:  Loved their music as all ways. Their visual may not be what it was under Drinkwater, but it should be enough for them to grab a spot in finals.

Keller and Coppell double tounging at 170 - difficult, but Waxahachie triple tounging at 162 is not? What about the 70-90 note chromatic and scaling runs done by both brass and woodwinds. I am obviously biased (being a Hachie parent), but their music is extremely difficult and they execute very well - AS DOES Keller and Coppell, and many other bands in this area.

Have fun with this! I want some variety in the top 3 (not just a bunch of Lewisville schools) so I put VR and Keller up there

They were in 5A last year and placed 3rd in the state. They moved up to 6A and are looking to keep that momentum going. If you ask me, I feel like if they make state finals, they will round out in the last couple of spots similar to Bell and Coppell from area B in 2016. Waxahachie’s main focus this year is clearly UIL and they are clearly succeeding.
 
They placed near the bottom of finals at BOA DFW so making finals at BOA San Antonio will be a fight but they are doing amazingly on the UIL side of things this year.

Duncanville has one of the most successful band programs in the history of Texas and I certainly wouldn't say that it is in a wealthy area.

IMO, LD Bell, Coppell, Cedar Ridge, Bowie, Round Rock, and Hendrickson are all fighting for the last two spots (assuming there are 12).

Huge battle between historical success and recent rise. This Saturday we will see if the panels bands that historically have made State and done well like Keller, Coppell, LD Bell, and Duncanville, or will they favor newer bands like Timber Creek, Waxahachie, Prosper, and Haltom that have not had as much experience with 6A State UIL (Waxahachie and Prosper with 5A experience).

Let's not forget that BOA and UIL are scored much differently, so if certain bands placed higher than others in BOA competitions this doesn't necessarily mean they will place higher at Area. Waxa, Bell, Coppell, and even Duncanville have historically always done VERY well in the UIL Scoring system. Of course, those scores, particularly the music and visual scores, help us gauge more or less where everyone is at but I would still take them with a grain of salt.

I think the top 6 will be the same people as bandisdope. I cant see Coppell missing out. I think they sound way too good and are on a trajectory to do what they always do. Duncanville will put out the same quality as always. It will just be a question of if it will be enough to keep them qualifying for state with a deeper field. I dont think it will be enough this year.
