  1. aww sorry man. :/ its true that there will be great bands at the dome, and I really want to go see them but I'm torn between going to go watch the intense competition at San Antonio or watching my old band at Sam Houston. hopefully next year they wont schedule it on the same day!
  2. this should be...fun. =/ i actually wanted to see cy fall's show, but its whatev. goodness, we're first. our HC dance is also tomorrow. crazy day.
  3. High school wise, from what I've heard, Cypress Falls and Oak Ridge were PASIC qualified. I think Poteet was as well.
  4. @mac: I think that yayband07 was referring to ours [Cypress Woods] show when he mentioned the "vengence". and I would assume that you're talking about Cypress Falls, mac. I've been a fan of Cypress Falls, and believe me, I always look forward to hearing their shows. And their electronics are extremely high tech...their pit's probably the most high tech I've seen. Indeed, I will admit that Cypress Falls' percussion ensemble is the most 'epic' percussion ensemble I've heard. Last year's Falls show was something impossible to forget. I'd like to see them do that again. @yayband07: I wish I could tell you, mate. I like surprises, and I'm pretty sure everyone does too =) About the vengence, not so much. But we ARE looking forward to becoming a rising band. =)
  5. We just got through with our percussion camp the past week. Tomorrow band camp starts. From the past week...all I can say is eh. I think we're getting off to a great start. I really hope we get a decent number of freshmen. We're still...kinda sorta new. So yeah. But I really hope its nothing like Falls'. I heard from a member there that they had 8 or so freshmen oboes. I feel terrible for the section leader. Haha. I think they also said that half of the horn section are freshmen. Same goes for the flutes I believe. Anyway! I can't wait to learn drill and such. I'm excited about this year.
  6. I was browsing around Music For All's website and my curiosity brought me to the National Concert Band Festival/ National Percussion Festival page. Being a percussionist myself, I was wondering what it was? And I noticed that there was only a few Texas concert bands and percussion enesembles going, so I was wondering if it's a big event or not? According to the website, the bands that are attending are J. Frank Dobie, Wylie, Vista Ridge, and Cypress Falls. Are they any good? [since Cypress Falls is so close to my school, I know a bit about them, but their concert bands and percussion, I haven't the slightest clue. But the other three, I dont know anything about]
  7. ^ haha, okay... langham actually had a great sound. it doesn't really matter if it doesn't excite you or not, yeah? and i just got back too, it was amazing :] dude, what school are you from?? you're always saying something good about cypress falls, lol XD Cypress Falls also got the best auxilary, percussion, and drum major award right? Dang. Too bad that didn't count in with their score.
