Crossmen eXperience Day 2012
Side-by-Side with Crossmen!
Come eXperience the Crossmen on June 15, 2012 at Blossom Athletic Center. The eXperience day camp is open to ALL middle school and high school level students. Brass, woodwind, percussion, and colorguard performers are all invited!
Students in the eXperience Day Camp will rehearse and perform with the Crossmen Drum Corps! Current and aspiring marching band students will learn fundamentals and music from Crossmen's very own instructors and will perform with the corps Friday night at the Marching Music eXtravaganza!
What You'll Learn:
While the performance opportunity with Crossmen is unforgettable, attendees will eXperience much, much more! Each student will learn some of the important fundamentals involved in creating a high level of performance, such as creating a balanced and musical sound at all dynamic levels, the best ways to approach playing while moving, and will get to live the "life" of a Crossmen for one day. Attendees will be instructed from our world renown caption heads and staff. Campers will get to meet other marching band students from around the state and a variety of backgrounds. They will have the opportunity to interact and share their ideas and love for drum corps!
In addition, eXperience Day Camp attendees will perform with the Crossmen during the evening of the Marching Music eXtravaganza (June 15th), where Crossmen will debut their 2012 production. We encourage all band members, parents, educators and fans of drum corps to come out that evening and watch Texas' only World Class Drum Corps!
Check-In and Registration on June 15 from Noon - 12:30pm

What is the cost to run a Drum Corps?
Each year, it costs over one million dollars for each Drum Corps in DCI to travel down the road. Our members are required to pay tuition and members fees that cover the costs of instruction, food, housing, transportation, equipment, uniforms for tour, camps, and spring training. With all of these factors included, the total cost for each performer is approximately $2,800 for the year.
Tuitions cover approximately 40% of the actual costs. The balance is raised by the Crossmen 501©(3) non-profit through corporate sponsorship, appearance fees, merchandise sales, and charitable gifts.

The Crossmen are looking to fill our last few positions in the hornline with talented kids before we hit the road. We are mostly in need of tuba players, and finding talented kids who can afford drum corps on short notice is difficult. The Crossmen will match donations of $300 to help young talented members get a spot and fill-out the hornline.
Please respond directly to Maureen Morrison at maureen@crossmen.org to help sponsor a kid today! We need your help.
Thank you,
Aaron Goldberg and the Crossmen Brass Staff

Synthesizer Opening for 2010 Crossmen
The front ensemble for the 2010 Crossmen is looking for a synthesizer player with a percussion or piano background. This year's tour production of Full Circle is already an exciting work of music based on compositions by Pat Metheny. If you are interested in auditioning, please contact Nathan Ratliff at ratliff.n@gmail.com or Matthew Smith at smittygoblue@gmail.com. The camp date to mark on the calendar is April 30 - May 2.

Starting at 9AM CST today until April 9th, GoodSearch is giving out $5,000 to non-profit organizations like Crossmen Productions - just for downloading the GoodSearch Toolbar for their web browser. If you are one of the first 5,000 people to download a toolbar today, the corps will receive $1 donation for your download, so please hurry to make a great difference for the corps!
The free & new GoodSearch Toolbar is very useful - once added to Internet Explorer or Firefox, each time you shop at more than 1,300 stores (from Amazon to Expedia to Home Depot!) a percentage of your purchase will automatically be donated to Crossmen - at no cost to you (and you may even save money as the toolbar provides coupons and deals as well!). The toolbar also has a search box powered by Yahoo!, and each time you search the Internet, about a penny is donated to Crossmen Productions. The Crossmen logo featured in the toolbar is a direct link to the Crossmen website, where you can stay in touch with more updates coming from the corps
So, let your friends know about this and download the GoodSearch Toolbar for your computers at home, work, and school! Thanks for your support!
