  1. NETexas - the five bands you bolded were the five that advanced out of area C. Impressive!
  2. Area C 4A state qualifiers: North Lamar Lumberton Spring Hill Paris Little Cypress-Mauriceville
  3. Fair enough. I was actually surprised Lumberton was even a 4A and not still on 5A. Maybe I was just distracted with their rainbow, but I thought musically and visually they were by far the best at that region of any classification. I do think they run a little too much. That would be my biggest criticism of them. I wanted to like LCM’s show, but I just didn’t. It was a little strange and I am generally not a fan of a lot of talking/voiceovers. Plus the phone beeping noises were annoying. They’re still a good band and may make a run at area and get to state. I don’t think any others from Region X have a shot.
  4. For Area C, I watched Region X In person. Lumberton was significantly more impressive than LCM. If LCM is a lock, I don’t know how you wouldn’t have Lumberton one as well.
  5. TWC - you’re making me feel better about the next generation!
  6. I was able to attend the Region X Marching Contest for the first time in many years while being back in southeast Texas visiting family. It sure was windy but thankfully the rain held off! Most of the traditional band programs were strong (Nederland, LCM, PNG, etc.). I will say to me, however, Lumberton was hands down the best band at the contest in any classification (I thought Lumberton was a 5A, so I was surprised when i saw them in 4A). I was blown away by their sound and their visuals. I would be surprised if they don’t have a strong run at state. LCM may get to state as well depending on the number of spots.
  7. Finals performance order: Tomball Memorial Shadow Creek Bryan Lumberton Porter Port Neches Groves Tomball Willis Crosby Brenham
  8. 1: Tomball Memorial 2. Lumberton 3. Crosby 4. Barbers Hill 5. Waller 6. Tomball 7. College Station 8. Willis 9. Elkins 10. Foster
  9. Good list. I would put lumberton in there. I think they placed ahead of several of those at a contest already.
