I could see Richland edging out Cedar Park for 5A champion this year!

Mansfield high school (the host) hasn't posted a schedule on the band site yet, but it says they will post one in mid September, so hopefully within the next week or two.

Yes, two years ago there was a bit more competition in Area B. However, the realignment caused schools like Birdville and Trinity to move areas.

Well in that case Lake Ridge will definitely have a challenge ahead of them! I had no idea those bands would possibly be attending

They are very clean and forms are crisp every year. That really paid off at the end of the season last year when they won Wylie for the second year in a row. There are many videos on YouTube of their shows, even this year. Their brass playing is compact and I would expect them to do well as always.

Well I guess I'll be the first to reply lol. Hopefully 25 bands make area this year so they can take 5, but my predictions for top 3 would probably be 1. Frisco Centennial 2. Frisco Wakeland 3. Southwest

Those third and fourth blocks are stacked! Really wish i could go but I'll be busy, sadly

Yeah it sucks that they'll be at such a disadvantage. Bands in the last two blocks usually have an advantage over the earlier performers as well.

The only thing I could possibly disagree on is the music caption. I would expect a Texas school to win music. Most likely FloMo

The top 7 or so are pretty much set. But who will take the last 3 spots in finals? I'm feeling upset/surprising show. Mansfield Summit is my prediction as a BOA first timer to make finals

Centennial could potentially place top 3 if their show is as powerful as 2015. That being said, a usual top contender could be thrown out of the mix. Any guesses?

A SMBC contender in 2017 could be Mansfield Summit. Coming off of a great year and placing in the top 4 of each contest they attended, including the TOC in Carrollton, Summit is sure to have an even more stunning run this upcoming state year.

Is Central Keller Central?

Well-written show but not enough impactful moments. Clean but not overly impressive.

My original meaning of the word underdog was any band that has not been well-known and will get their name out there this year.
