  1. Argyles visual program is absolutely killer. That would destroy in BOA 1A.
  2. HIGHLY recommend. And yes, I remember the previous webcasts before FloMarching took over and they were fine, don't remember anything to complain about.
  3. So I'd give Flomarching this fall a 6. They covered every event, and when the video quality was good it was GOOD. But there was so much pixelation, skipping, audio sync issues, and they have absolutely no idea how to mic a field for a marching band. If Flomarching is a 6, then this Box 5 Mr. Video one is a 15/10. The audio quality is sublime, they have AMAZING camera angles, and it has a dvr function. Video quality could be a touch higher. But compared to what I suffered through this weekend, Mr. Video has set up a truly professional webcast with people that know how to do mics for marching band. Music For All should look to Mr. Video, I am so impressed with this.
  4. People I know watching said this isn't even comparable to FloMarching. Fantastic quality. Box 5 and Mr. Video should take over next year...
  5. What the heck. I've been working on a prediction all year. 1) William Mason - GE (just a gut feeling based on early season stuff, show had that "it"). 2) Tarpon Springs 3) Leander - Music 4) Avon - Visual 5) Claudia Taylor Johnson 6) Carmel 7) Ronald Reagan 8) James Bowie 9) Cedar Park 10) Wando 11) Homestead 12) Union -------------- 13) Bellevue West 14) Owasso 15) Marian Catholic
  6. I will say...I caught a James Bowie video of Area that was VERY high quality (which is now down unfortunately). And it may be my favorite or 2nd favorite (to Leander) of the Texas shows heading to Grand Nationals. The interplay of the Queen songs is just SO well done and entertaining. The show is so clear in its intent, and they sound like a million bucks playing it. I feel like since they didn't go to San Antonio they're getting forgotten about (more on other sites than on here), but I wouldn't be surpsied to see them show up at Grand Nationals and finish well into the top 10, 8, 6 etc. It's just fantastic stuff.
  7. All the BOA Regionals and Super Regionals are done. Conclusion - I have no idea what the heck is going to happen.
  8. From my experience when scores are tight they tend to be pulled way down.
  9. Flower Mound did what I thought they would, impressive win for sure. The Woodlands...shocker of the day. I loved the show design. Redemption from area for sure. Grand Nationals Attendees: Leander Claudia Taylor Johnson Ronald Reagan Cedar Park Johnson and Leander far exceeded expectations. First 2 out: - Cedar Ridge - LD Bell
  10. Flower Mound and Leander are still my firm 1 and 2. Leander is peaking at the right time, there is still enough there to focus on before Grand Nationals but this show is about ready.
  11. When I first saw Hendrickson on the BOA Austin Regional Webcast I knew that show was something special. Such a clever and well designed product. And they really sell this thing so well. Favorite part would have to be the final moments where the trombones are going to town with the band absolutely blasting underneath that. One of my favorites this year, easily. Thank you Hendrickson! (accidentally posted a little early).
  12. Cypress Falls was REALLY fun. Man they have some serious power behind them. Some absolutely mammoth musical moments. Great job! What a way to kick off finals!
  13. I'm going to be really upset if Grand Nationals is as low quality as this San Antonio webcast is. Absolutely terrible and unwatchable. I sent them an email, if you're unhappy I'd suggest the same. Maybe if they hear enough feedback they'll ensure that Grand Nationals is bearable. Great job Friendswood.
  14. Shows you how amazing Texas is. I watched Indianapolis, Atlanta, and STL (the other Supers) and Vista Ridge and probably the next 10 bands out of finals in San Antonio would probably not only make finals but place in the top half.
  15. I AM SO HAPPY FOR HENDRICKSON. 2014 broke my heart and last year them not getting to compete made me really sad. I've loved their shows every year since Dr. Atomic in 2012. This years is so fun, so well performed, and just awesome. They've really stepped onto the playing field with the big boys and I think this is only the beginning. Also Leander. They have layered, added, cleaned, and are now performing that show MASTERFULLY. It was a mere shell back in September and now that it is fleshed out it is flat out amazing. Maybe I wasn't so crazy saying too 2...hehe. Cypress Falls show is a BLAST! Finals is even more entertaining now. Fun show! I feel so bad for bands that missed as always, but it's so cool to see these two faces in for me.
  16. I thought over the two days they were the 2nd best and Flower Mound was the best.
  17. The audio for me and everyone I've talked to has been downright aweful.
  18. Flower Mound is gonna be real tough to beat... And I thought Leander was a clear 2nd. Favorite 30 minutes were the last 30.
  19. Leander was ridiculous. In the absolute best of ways.
  20. It wasn't an issue with the stream because I knew people that were watching and it was perfectly fine with them. Was something weird with my internet.
  21. Mine did that yesterday for two hours. Try resetting your modem if you can't get it to go live, that's what I ended up having to do.
  22. Watched the heavy hitters from Indianapolis that are attending Grand Nationals. Avon - Should finish in the top 5, fantastic performance levels from them and the show works. For me though I really wish the front of the pack leaders of the band world would be a little bit more adventurous in terms of their source music and show themes instead of going back to the same old pieces and themes every year. I've seen that show from College Park a few years ago and The Woodlands in 2012. Another Copland leaving home show. Nothing wrong at all with it and I actually enjoyed it, just personal taste. Carmel - Also very solid. Design wise it definitely has some highs and lows. The opener which I raved about early on, the ballad climax, and the ending were all very nice. Between those moments I'm not too sure. Best I've heard them play in a few years and that guard is as good as ever though. I could see them anywhere from 4th to 8th. Marian Catholic - They've cleaned up a ton from the early season video I saw from them. Front 75% of the show was very solid performance wise. Show is nice, opening few minutes are actually some of the more interesting stuff I've seen this weekend. The ballad and the two minutes that follow are...different for sure. Need to see again to decide on those. Closer was nice, got pretty loose at the end but I'm sure that'll be their focus before GN. In terms of finals...people have been saying they'll miss every year since 2013 or so. They always pull it out. They always seem to work some kind of strange magic that week before GN and jump a huge amount of points. So it's not smart to bet against them. ALL that aside. I'll make it black and white. Do I think there could be at least 12 better bands next week? Yes. Do I think there are 12 better designed shows? Yes. Am I saying they'll miss? No. We shall see. Castle - I loved Castle. Incredibly powerful music performance, fantastic ballad, and very clean visual performance from up top. Loved them. Homsetead - Didn't catch them this morning but I've seen a recent video of the show. Fantastic visual program and visual performance and the music is great. If I had to rank the top 6: 1) Avon 2) Carmel 3) Blue Springs 4) Castle 5) Homestead 6) Marian Catholic
  23. Got it working again. Cypress Falls was a blast, really fun show. But alas the audio quality of this webcast went from bad to a lot worse after this break. Sounds like it's being recorded through a tin can...
  24. Have tried 4 different browsers, 3 different computers, emptied the cache, deleted cookies, restarted my computer, reset my internet, and everything inbetween so I have no idea what to do now. Indianapolis feed is working great is the really strange thing.
  25. Well. Something really strange is going on with my feed, but seems like everyone else I know that is watching is having no issue. Feed is stuck in Dripping Springs performance, freezes consistently, and then rewinds back to the same spot. So I guess I'm done for the day unless it magically starts working again. Have fun if you're watching...
