  1. Sorry I meant to say I HAD gut feeling for broken arrow but since they aren't competing (which is shame), I am rooting for the woodlands to make in impact. Idk why but something in my mind said broken arrow was going, I guess cause when I think grand nationals I think Broken arrow and how great they are every year, but just realizing again that they aren't going, I will have to say the woodlands have really impressed me this year.
  2. I have this gut feeling for broken arrow to take the title, but we never know. Some of these Texas bands have a good shot. In my opinion after watching the woodlands and round rock's shows I will say it could be a Texas band taking it home.
  3. I think this year has brought us a lot as it wraps up in these next couple of weeks. I would say the show I enjoyed most was probably LD Bell. The way they played and the soft but intense energy they brought was just outstanding to watch and listen to. The one time I saw them at BOA Dallas this year was strong. And this year was my first time ever hearing Hebron and it just blew my mind when they first started with a great attack from what is a great horn line. I love hearing the sounds that schools like LD Bell, Marcus, and Hebron make. Whether it is the LD Bell residence, the Marcus technicality , or the Hebron power house sound, I truly enjoyed watching these bands perform this year and know that they will do great at Grand Nationals.
  4. It's not bout being a 20 year old program or having a reputation. It's about how well you perform that year that determines how you will do. If let's say a really good school didn't try as hard one year and didn't put as much as let's say a new program that gave it everything. Does that program deserve to win over the newer band. All I am saying is all the bands put in a lot of effort to get to this point and they just want to do their best at state like everybody else.
  5. Would lake ridge be considered a dark horse? What about southwest? Any new state dark horses after this weekend?
  6. Well I actually am in the band, and I can say being a part of it alone is hard. It's just as hard if not harder than what other bands are doing, and the band actually truly wants to be good, nobody is trying to over hype we just want the state to know we are ready to do our best and what we love to do.
  7. After hearing all these area results I took my predictions and made a nice firewood out of them because it's not what I was expecting, although my band is competing, it goes without saying, but it's going to be one roller coaster of a competition. We have dark horse, power house, top notch , and rising star programs competing this year.
  8. Really enjoyed the competition today and I feel amazing after announcements were made . Sorry for the bands that didn't make , everyone put in a top notch effort and in the end we all did well. I want to congratulate all the bands that competed today in outstanding performances and I am super excited to head to state this year with my band . I look forward to seeing what area b is bringing to state cause it's going to be wild.
  9. State is going to be a tough rode and it's going to reach high peaks. Yes , some bands that medaled aren't going to be there but that just means that this state is reaching a whole new level. I look forward to competing this year at state and I wish all the other bands good luck as well in this weeks preparations for the biggest stage in Texas marching. It's going to be big and loud and your are going to want to be there trust me.
  10. I feel like grand nationals is going to be really competitive this year and one of the most exciting. From what I have noticed this year after watching numerous bands perform at BOA Dallas this year and seeing visually where these school are heading and how amazing they performed I can already tell that was a small chunk of excitement of what we are going to see from grand nationals. I will say though , I really enjoyed LD Bells show this year . When I saw their show at BOA Dallas I was amazed both visually and musically. They brought a sound that flooded Allen stadium. The stadium felt like a pool of soothing and energetic sounds that it left me blown away.
  11. I know there are going to be a lot of really good shows. It's hard to even say who will make final 4. Who knows who might show up but it's going to blow some minds what these bands bring to the table. Who are your picks for this area ? Finals and the four?
  12. A lot of great bands will be there. It's going to be exciting and amazing to watch.
  13. Lake ridge is marching above 185-190 in both the drum break and closer, this is about the last two minutes from I heard.
