    North Forney was just happy to go for the first time ever! Hopefully it will be a good foundation for the next few contests...nothing like only having two high schools in a town and both making it to the dance!!!

    Lots of reminiscing of the UTA band back in the 90's...we did the Rocketeer as well. Did they do The Boy Who Could Fly as well?

    That was 86-87 I believe. We actually used Poteet's parking lot as a practice field BEFORE the school was complete! Verified my claim with one of our asst. directors at the time. Everyone always thinks that their band is the best of all time...would have been nice to at least put it a bit to the test. Past that GO NORTH FORNEY PRIDE!!

    Back in my 80's North Mesquite days, we KNEW that the administration wouldn't pay for us to go to state (they would football, of course back then) so we gave up our spot to Lakeview Centennial, I believe.

    So super proud of North Forney! First time to break that barrier. At this point, anything else is just extra...they just need to dig in a little deeper!

    We are just overjoyed that North Forney, yes, NORTH made it for the first time. Two schools from the same city. Gonna be great for our town.

    Thanks for this list! My son (and me) were curious. N Forney came in 12, but with so much tough competition, they felt they did good.
