  1. Round Rock won State in 1979, and they also made it a few times in the 80's
  2. My senior year (2013) the season fee was $100-$150. The $1300 was just for the grand nats trip.
  3. I heard Round Rock's prelims performance wasn't very good, according to people on the BOA forums.
  4. Went with Round Rock my senior year. We flew in two planes, it was really nice. When we landed we got off the planes and went straight to charter buses that took us to the hotel we were staying in. Flying on the way back sucked just because we went straight from finals retreat to the Indianapolis airport, where those of us on the second plane had to wait until 4am to board our flight. Still it was an unforgettable experience.
  5. So round rock dropped 4.6 points and 5 places between prelims and finals, however from watching both performances, they seemed very close in quality, if anything i think their finals performance might have been a tad better. So which score is closest to where they really are at at this point?
  6. Round Rock won't be going in 2016. But they will go again in 2017 (unless something changes). They are now on an every other year rotation.
  7. I've already revised my list like 10 times, and i'll probably keep changing it 1. CTJ 2. The Woodlands 3. Leander 4. Hebron 5. Marcus 6. Bowie 7. Round Rock 8. Flower Mound 9. Ronald Reagan 10. LD Bell (This is where i really don't know where to put who, and even if these bands will for sure make finals.) 11. Cedar Park 12. Vandegrift 13. Spring 14. Richland
  8. This is why i dont make predictions about UIL events. With the way it's judged, sometimes you might as well be picking names from a hat.
  9. As I have said before... If you are a member of the Round Rock band, i would advise you to check out the band handbook available on the website, Page 34 under Student expectations: "11. Stay off the internet. Avoid posting comments on forums unless it’s to congratulate another band" If you are a parent i would advise you to follow the same rule, if you care about your childs band program. Either way I would appreciate it if you deleted your comments, and stayed off the forums. Round Rock has worked hard for decades to develop a good reputation, and I certainly did not contribute 4 years of blood, sweat and tears so someones comments on the internet could give my Alma Mater a bad name. Alyglad87, you are tarnishing Round Rock's reputation.

  11. Results: 1st Round Rock 2nd Hendrickson 3rd Vista Ridge 4th Dripping Springs 5th Anderson 6th Wagner 7th Judson 8th New Braunfels 9th Sandra Day O' Connor 10th Lake Travis http://westlakemarchingfestival.com/results.html
  12. Bowie, CTJ, Ronald Reagan, Round Rock, Cedar Ridge, Hendrickson, Westlake, Pflugerville, Westwood, and Anderson seem to be the top competitors. I believe there will be 7 advancing to State? I may be wrong though. Locks: Bowie CTJ Reagan Bubble: Cedar Ridge Round Rock Hendrickson Westlake?? - not sure on where to put them after BOA Austin, then again that was pretty early in the season
  13. I like what you said about Round Rock. One problem they've had in past years (especially last year) is picking very hard drill and music with challenging portions. I have heard that this year they have really scaled back the difficulty in the drill and put more focus into the music. Both their marching technique and their ensemble sound needs a lot of work. But I believe they are ahead of the curve with how much of their show they have learned at this point versus past years (they usually didnt have their full show on the field until 1-2 weeks before BOA SA.) Although they certainly still need work, RR tends to peak late, and their show this year is much more oriented to UIL State than it ever has in recent years.
  14. I know I'm biased, but this could be the first time Round Rock makes state finals in decades, after landing just outside of finals in 2010 and not advancing from area in 2012. If they make it into finals this year, I couldn't even guess where they would land.
