I hope so because those guys have a lot of potential. In the short term I don't think North will be affected just yet by the staff change, but give it a couple years. Makes me wonder if you'll see any new guys go to state (Reedy or Walnut Grove????) in these next few years. Gotta represent the 380 growth spurt well at state lol. But either way I'm excited to see how this turns out, and theres a lot of ways this contest can go this year. I think Emerson will make finals. but there will be a lot of people fighting to be the last ones into finals this year at prelims I think

I think considering the size of the area they definitely could. US bands did or still does a comp here and there were around 20+ bands in prelims. It might be a little tight like you said but other than the distance for Sherman and Denison this would be a lot easier for a lot, especially considering like half the area are Frisco schools. just saw it’s got a 12,000 seats compared to 10,000 at Melissa so def enough room

Does anyone know where the contest will be? I'm guessing it'll be in Melissa again, but it would be so awesome if it was at the Star in Frisco.

Lakeview Centennial has it on their calendar , I think rowlett does too…? Not sure about rowlett but lakeview does

I'm sure it will be a full event. I am curious to see how they run it. I know one year they had a Finals for 1A/2A/3A/4A and another Finals for 5A/6A. I think last year they didn't do it like that because not as many bands were there due to other competitions.

Oh wow! Ours only gets that expensive for our new members because they have to buy flip folders, marching shoes, etc. but our color guard fees are INSANE! $300 for the color guard uniform, plus the $350 participation fee, and then another participation fee for the winter guard season.

Kind off, in 2023 they had a show called “Deconstructed, a journey through the creative process” so it’s like FlowerMound, but also not really.

Here's my early predictions for this show this year. I'll make another one later in the season but this is what I have for right now 1. Mansfield (brass) (vis) (music) 2. Little Elm (percussion) (aux) 3. The Colony (ww) 4. North Mesquite 5. James Martin 6. Birdville 7. Lakeview 8. Frisco Centennial 9. Highland Park 10. Fossil Ridge I have them in bubbles where they could all be interchanged with one another. I think that the top 4 will be a big battle especially with some underdogs in the top 5 last year (LE,NM) so I think it could be a fun contest to show up to for those interested in going to a contest that weekend. Excited to see how this contest ends up. I'm especially interested to see how North Mesquite does in this contest, I loved their show last year
