This past realignment saw a few schools that were in 3A Area B and 4A Area B move to Area C. They can realign Area every 2 yrs just like they do with sports.

Yeah Reedy really is a big gamble, they seemed to be doing great with their director. With the Memorial director being at reedy now, I am looking forward to how they will do. Ex-Memorial director was doing good with them, and the Memorial program is like half the size of Reedy’s, so all we can do it wait lol. Hopefully they do great, I have high hopes

Yeah I agree about Wakeland, I don’t see them not being 1 or 2 for a while, def as long as they’ve got their current director and whatnot. im also curious about if reedy hangs around with their head leaving as well. I also don’t see Walnut Grove out of finals, here’s my guess based on changes and last year: 1. Wakeland/Lonestat 2. LS/Wakeland 3. Argyle 4. MN/LT 5. LT/MN/Walnut Grove 6. Walnut Grove/LT 7. Emerson (I’m really hoping) 8. Reedy? 9-10-everyone else im hoping to see TC and Emerson back in. I think both had rough area runs last year. I’m also expecting big things from WG, would be shocked if they pulled a big one, especially considering the growing success of Prosper schools.

To my understanding you’re a frisco hs graduate… I have high hopes for them too! I like your thinking with The Colony bounce back, I enjoyed their show last year… definitely finals spot deserving. Memorial did also just lose their head director after only 3 years so I’m not sure how they will play out. Also Wakeland dropping to 3rd is a little bit of a stretch, I can see them dropping to 2nd after a while as they were head to head with lone star last season. Argyle jump is a little crazy too. overall great predictions!

It's early in the season but what are everyone's predictions so far..... I'm going out on a limb and saying 1. Lone Star 2. Argyle 3. Wakeland 4. Lebanon trail/ Mckinney north 5. Reedy / the colony 6. Emerson 7. Heritage 8. Memorial 9. Liberty 10. Frisco high school

Unfortunately they don’t realign area very often. It was 20 years ago or so since the last area change for 3A/4A area c. Don’t look for them to move anyone back. But, the next realignment will move Celina to 5A so there’s that.

Do yall have any predictions now that most of the area finalist have revealed their show themes? Here are my predictions. 1st/2nd: Celina/SS (again). Both bands should continue to have success in 4A. Although SS show theme has been done many times they do have some good music selections and seems like they will make it unique. I’m ready to see Celina’s show!! 3rd/4th: NL/PG. both of these bands have shows great improve these past few years and should be some top contenders at area and possibly state! I do think PG has a good chance to over come NL they have improved significantly every year and it seems that NL has struggled a bit since Mr. Jones left in 2023. 5th/6th: Lumberton/BC. These 2 bands always seem to be neck and neck. They both have really amazing shows but it’ll definitely be close! I could see Lumberton placing higher but I have them here for now. BC I’ve seen have their ups and downs. I honestly enjoyed their area performance more than state but we will see what happens! 7th/8th: Farmersville/VA. These 2 placements will be controversial if there are only 7 state qualifiers. In 2024 VA I think was supposed a state qualifier in prelims but dropped down in finals. After seeing FHS show theme I think it could really be a toss up. It’s a fun show but I don’t know how judges will feel about it. I have not yet seen anything from VA. 9th/10th/11th/12th: It could be really anyone here with the stacked area but I think the more likely ones will be Canton/PT/Community/WP/Sunnyvale. It’ll definitely be close but it’ll just depend on their execution. I did hear that PT is getting a new assistant director..

Another show for us. Wakeland.

This could be a positive for area B. Only 2 additional division 1s were needed to get 30 bands at area to add a state slot reaching 6 total vs 5 for last year. Richland should be an 1 hopefully. 1 additional band would then be needed to bring the total to 30 bands assuming similar results as last year. There is a program up 35 close to Oklahoma that fell short with a division 2 in 24 but made area in 23. The door could be open for a 6th band potentially. There are bands that would be really hungry for that potential 6th spot at state.

Here is PISD's feeder pattern. From the looks of it, mainly Rushing but also Mosely, which is the new one that's opening this year. Rushing could definitely be a good asset for Richland as a feeder though, and especially as a 4A this first year they could definitely be successful. I'm sure they'll probably be 5 or 6A once we get to realignment 2026 though.

Going to the rival school that's still in that Area is crazy. Can't wait to see how this shapes out both schools.
