  3. BIG things are happening in Area J for percussion!!! Congrats to both Braswell and Hebron HS Percussion for both being winners of PASIC 2025 International Percussion Ensemble Competition in the HS division!!! Percussion will be really strong in this area with lots of programs doing really good this spring and summer in percussion!!
  4. Region 10 will be on the 18th of October at Port Neches-Groves HS
  5. 2025 Region 28 3A/4A Marching Evaluation - October 18 - La Feria
  6. I agree they are definitely way over looked, and I gotta agree they could definitely overtake some people silently. Enjoyed the show last year and I think with the right show they can place high in this contest and maybe in the Area contest as well.
  7. Little Elm gets overlooked.... plus their colorguard is a beast.... The colorguard will be coming into play..... at least I think so....

  10. Ooooooh I did NOT see that my bad
  11. In that case i don’t see why Tompkins is capped at 7…
  12. Speaking of replacements for staff, springs got our assistant director announced a while ago who was the assistant director at Spillane ms who was also in Carolina crown for 3 years And I also heard JV got a new head director from memorial hs so wonder how that’ll change things up
  13. west mesquite uniforms looking tuff
  14. Yeah it’s why I currently have them out I like my ranges wide because I don’t like ruling out anything for any band
  15. What’s up band nerds, it’s been a few months. Langham is very unlikely to make state this year. It’s a slow process to climb to the top. While they get better, other rising bands must get worse, or at least worse than LCHS. Won’t happen overnight. Bridgeland is losing Mr Willie, their visual director. I can’t overstate his contribution to the program. In Grand Nats prelims last year Bridgeland placed ahead of Avon and Broken Arrow (iirc), in large part thanks to his contributions. A tough hole to fill. Will be a fun year.
  16. Wylie East is getting a fantastic addition in Mr. Nicholson as Assistant Director! Wylie High is sad to lose him but glad he’s staying in the district.
  17. I definitely agree that Langham will continue to build off of their success last year, but I just don’t see them in contention for a state spot, or at least not as likely as the likes of Cinco Ranch, JET, Jordan and Tompkins. I would love to be proven wrong though, their show last year was awesome!
  18. Last week
  19. Unless there is any real big changes, I don't see a lot of movement compared to last years results. There is just a small handful of schools that for some reason have that magical formula that equal success and it's up to the other schools to try and close the gaps.
  20. Yeah, best thing I did to learn more about a lot of these schools is to go a competition every weekend that I know has several of the big known schools that compete at the State Level every year. I also make it a point to try and go to a couple of Regionals, Areas and I went to the 3A and 4A State Competition last year. I don't know a lot about the 5A's and 6A's I am more of a fan of the smaller schools and I have several friends who all have bands kids at several 3A and 4A schools as well.
  21. I know its almost a year late, but does anyone by chance have a recap of the scores from this contest? I'm curious about some of the scores from the event (more specifically Mansfield and the Colony's battle in the top 2 lol)
  22. I wouldnt be surprised if the former area champs (Langham creek) , end up in top 8 in finals If cinco wants to go to state, they need to have clean drill. With clean drill, I think they could easily beat out JET and maybe Jordan Jersey Village has a good program, but some of their shows haven’t been competitive enough to beat out groups like Cy Ranch or Katy.
  23. 1 Bridgeland-they honestly won’t be slowing down for awhile I wanna see where they place in state and if they can crack the top 8 2-4 seven lakes- it was very surprising to see them make state finals after placing fourth at area I hopethey’ll use that momentum to once again reach state finals 2-5 cy woods- i honestly expected them to make state finals after barely losing the area championship and their show was amazing this year I think they will maintain there relative state spot with an outside chance at state finals 2-6 cy fair- this is the first year where I genuinely think cy fair has a chance at not making state although unlikely they took a step back last year and others around them didn’t 4-7 Jet- I still have no clue who to put in this fifth state spot as anything could happen I have about four bands who could take this spot only time will tell what happens I only put jet here as they have been the most consistent in there placing 4-9 Langham creek- HOT TAKE I got it right with Langham last year tying for eight with Tompkins. I’ve heard there show from a friend and man it’s a huge step of from last year if they can continue to be the uil oriented band they are they can easily climb the ranks many people don’t have any hope or praise for this group and it’s sad to see especially with the greatness they once had I saw there percs indoor show and that should help since they were a weakness overall last year with there school population growing they’ll have a higher talent pool to choose from and hopefully surprise us all 4-8 Jordan- Last year at one point Jordan was a lock for state to me but come area it did not come to fruition could it be a case of bad judging maybe but that surely took most if not all the momentum they had building I hope they come back strong this year and fight for a state spot(yes I am stirring up a rivalry with them and Langham as the head directors daughter for Jordan works at Langham) 4-9 cinco ranch- i absolutely loved there show last year it was creative and really suited there band it wasn’t the cleanest show and I think that and losing the fifth state spot really hurt them I have them also fighting for state once again and trying to take back that spot again 7-11 Tompkins- Tompkins took a step back from there stage year and it showed they aren’t the band they once were they have the capabilities to bounce back so I don’t think they’ll miss finals but states gonna be hard 8-11 cy ranch- cy ranch last year seemed to platue beating Langham at boa then losing to them at area I don’t have much to say about them but I think they have a strong chance at finals once again 9-12 Katy- they also seemed to take a step back swapping with many groups week to week they were very inconsistent but they have the resources possible to rebound bubble band ( Katy paetow jersey village ) Please dissect my lists and feel free to make your own so we can make this the most active forum on txbands
  24. Hebron Flomo Marcus Braswell/prosper prosper/braswell Mckinney Wylie East/Boyd Boyd/east Rockhill id say bottom half is pretty interchange, could see someone else maybe taking 4th?
  25. Since this forum has been quiet I’m gonna kick off a strand of predictions
  26. Just some new director change info, an assistant director has left Wylie East to work with Rock Hill, and Wylie East’s newest assistant director was hired from Wylie High. Interesting shifts
