lambow93 Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 hello!! i know it's very early but i see all the other area threads for next year opening up and thought this one would be fun lol. this area may grow larger in size after realignment! youraveragebandkid 1 Quote
lambow93 Posted December 3, 2025 Author Posted December 3, 2025 Unless UIL decides to make a new 5A area for the houston and surrounding areas (unlikely), here are schools that were in this area for 24-26 alignment and will most likely stay unless specified otherwise. Please tell me if I am missing anything! Region 8: Rudder A&M Consolidated College Station (rumored to move up to 6A, not confirmed) Region 9: Huntsville Lake Creek Montgomery Splendora Region 10: Beaumont United West Brook (possible move up to 6A) Dayton Nederland Port Arthur Memorial Port Neches Groves Region 13 Kempner Fort Bend Marshall Randle Lamar Consolidated (possible move down to 4A) Terry Iowa Colony Tomas Region 17 Angleton (possible move up to 6A) Friendswood Galveston Ball Santa Fe (possible move down to 4A) Texas City Region 19 Barbers Hill (possible move up to 6A) Baytown Lee Baytown Sterling (possible move up to 6A) La Porte (possible move up to 6A) Pasadena (possible move up to 6A) Region 23 (most of these bands don't always participate in marching band) Houston Austin (possible move down to 4A) Houston Chavez (possible opt up to 6A) Houston Madison Houston Milby Houston Sharpstown Houston Sterling Houston Waltrip Houston Westbury Region 27 Brenham Spring Woods Region 33 Crosby Galena Park Kingwood Park Porter West Fork Quote

Fulshear is very, very comfortably in 6A with 3.2k students...) Quote

lambow93 Posted December 4, 2025 Author Posted December 4, 2025 my predictions for finalists next year that gets possibly more inaccurate (ignoring schools that may go 6A but putting schools that are most likely coming to 5A because i have no real clue) Foster Friendswood A&M Consolidated College Station New Caney / George Ranch Brenham La Porte Porter Barbers Hill Kempner Freeman/Galena Park/Randle/PNG Quote
lambow93 Posted December 10, 2025 Author Posted December 10, 2025 no 6A E thread yet, but just to mention that if the 6A cutoff truly ends at 2200: - West Brook - Angleton - Barbers Hill - Baytown Sterling - La Porte - Pasadena will be the schools moving up into 6A and into E (minus WB who will be going to F) Quote

BugWub24 Posted December 16, 2025 Posted December 16, 2025 Here is your 26-28 outlook for 5A Area E under the current alignment. With how many bands got added to this area, whether they dropped from 6A or it's a new school, there is likely some changes to happen, albeit pretty minor. I could see A&M Cons., CS, and Rudder reuniting with the rest of Region 8 back in Area D. lambow93 and ruben_f 2 Quote
ruben_f Posted December 16, 2025 Posted December 16, 2025 44 is wild. I think you are missing Spring Branch Northbrook from region 27 they have an enrollment of 2139 1 hour ago, BugWub24 said: Here is your 26-28 outlook for 5A Area E under the current alignment. lambow93 Posted December 17, 2025 Author Posted December 17, 2025 With barbers hill moving up to 6A and a very slight possibility of both CS schools moving back to Area D, there is a possibility of Kempner and Porter returning to State as well as a band like PNG returning after 20+ years Quote
Vishi Posted December 17, 2025 Posted December 17, 2025 Based on enrollment cutoffs as of right now the following schools are considered 6A: Foster, Manvel, George ranch and Hightower Quote
ruben_f Posted December 17, 2025 Posted December 17, 2025 Is there a chance this area might be split up? Area E: region 33, 10, 9, 19 - (total 22 schools) New 5A Area I: Region 13, 23, 27, 17 - (total 19) Region 8 South would likely move back to Area D lambow93 1 Quote

Also, I think Region 8 would move back too. would save them about 5 miles traveling to Pflugerville than Channelview 😅 Quote
lambow93 Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 back again for the new year ! making early predictions (because i wouldn't be a txbands user if i didn't) these are truly just this past year's results pushed up (with a pinch of my own opinion) with the removal of both CS schools in the event they remove them to move them to Area D, and Barbers Hill since they are now in 6A: 1. Friendswood (no surprise here) 2. Brenham 3. La Porte 4. Kempner 5. Porter 6. Port Neches Groves 7. Randle 8. Galena Park 9. Lamar Consolidated 10. Angleton 11. Baytown Sterling 12. West Fork Quote
BugWub24 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 If Region 8 South moves back to Area D, give me: 1. Friendswood 2. Brenham 3. La Porte 4. Dulles 5. Porter 6. Port Neches-Groves 7. New Caney 8. Randle 9. Angleton 10. Kempner 11. Galena Park 12. West Fork I'd watch out for Dulles and New Caney - very good bands that were overshadowed in their stacked 6A areas. Vishi 1 Quote

Vishi Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Coming as someone who’s new to 5a (Dulles)these my predictions based on past years shows I have seen: 1. Friendswood 2. Brenham 3. La Porte 4. Kempner 5. Dulles 6. Porter or freeman 7. Port Neches-Groves 8. New Caney 9. Randle 10. Angleton 11. Galena Park 12. West Fork I'd would watch out for Dulles because we have been steadily getting better even after past 2 mediocre seasons before. I won’t jinx it but if we make state , it would be pretty cool.🙃 lambow93 1 Quote

I find it very likely that y'all and New Caney make finals Vishi 1 Quote
lambow93 Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 Not much to do here until realignment... or April/May... or July... so I'll just put some of my favorite shows from this area from this past 2025 season A&M Consolidated - "Patterns in My Mind" Kempner - "Unlocked" Lamar Consolidated - "Timeless" Randle - "Auroric Dances" Porter - "Spindletop: A Portrait in Oil" Galena Park - "Enjoy The Silence" (? i may be misremembering this show name) West Fork - "Ad Astra" Splendora - "Splendorous" Baytown Lee - "Fantastic Voyage" Kingwood Park - "Oh! The Places You'll Go!" Spring Woods - "A Day in the Factory" Quote
