honestly last year was fun! it was nice seeing colleyville with a huge comeback and seeing richland,Burleson, and aledo make state finals! . I also don't know who is moving up at all in our area I just know that aledo is and maybe azle?? but anyways to the point (I wont include aledo and azle as i don't know exactly)

1st burleson
with aledo gone I don't doubt that they will be the area champions this year, they are just insane I mean they beat cedar park in percussion at state. I do think they can place top 5 at state next year they def have the talent and the power to do so. I think we can ALL expect big things
2nd richland
They just prove again and again how they are a top band in this area. Seeing them at state was an amazing experience I want to experience again. I believe that they COULD... be area champions and make state finals. they would just have to work hard since may/june (like everyone else).
3rd grapevine
I can see this I feel that they are locked in for next year after getting 6th place 3 years  in a row. Grapevine always has the peaceful shows (or that's just me) so maybe they might switch It up like how colleyville did in 2024.
4th midlo
After seeing state results I'm a little bit dumb founded, I didn't have the pleasure of watching them but from what I heard they were insane. So I was a little surprised when I didn't hear midlos name get called for finals. but again this is all last year so maybe they will stack up against other bands and move up the rankings. they always find a way to come back
5th colleyville
After an amazing come back last year I don't doubt that they will be even stronger this year. I enjoyed their show at state and it was pretty good. I'm very excited to see how they turn out this year and I'm rooting for them to make state again. (possibly state finals hehe)
(state cutoff)---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6th Chisholm trail
I don't know to much about them other then them having an amazing season last year and I could only hear them from outside the stadium and they sounded amazing so props to them I'm also rooting for them to make finals again and maybe cross that state line for the first time since 2015.
7th saginaw
This is a crazy take but i can totally see it. I would love to see saginaw make finals since 2022. they had an amazing show last year and I'm hoping they can top it off this year. theyve been very very close to making it this year and I was sad to not hear their name be called for finals. IM ROOTING FOR YALL!
8th fossil ridge
I also have no knowledge about fossil ridge but i watched their show and it was good I'm hoping they can move up this year as i believe in them. I think we can see them getting close to that state line aswell expecting to see big things
9th Joshua
I also had the pleasure of watching their show and it was good I believe they should've also made it this year aswell but that's my opinion. Im also excited to see them next year and I'm hoping they can come back and make area finals since 2022 aswell.
10th mansfield legacy
I don't know to to much about them but they seem to be fine I can see them In the mix aswell.
(finals cutoff)---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we can expect huge things from all of the bands that normally attend our area. its going to be sad to see aledo and azle possibly gone aswell so farewells to them.
And i don't think we can expect birdville even near finals, they've fallen off and fallen off hard. I thought they had an amazing show and it was but it was excuted poorly. this is the 2nd time in a row that they've been predicted for state but it just hasnt happened and I dont think it will happen. But who knows area f is known to be the most surpisng area so we will see in Oct!

But Birdville got that homefield advantage. I think they will get 1st with that yo.

Reverse uno rage-bait subtext?

Dizzying.

But truly, the chances of Birdville not even making finals next year are slim. Something major would have to change between then and now.

they would have to have caves, asphalt cocktail, symphonic mvt IV, and Niagara falls if they want to graze area finals.

truthfully I know I said birdville out of finals (ragebait), but I believe they have the biggest shot making state since azle and aledo are gonna be gone. I think they can pull it together. I also heard cen10 might be moving up?

As a Grapevine parent of a Junior this year, the last few years have been disappointing. Being so close three years in a row and missing has been a learning experience for the kids. I'm hoping that our show next year brings out something new and adds some flair to help push them over the line.

I believe they can make state next year unless something happens between then and now.

name one birdville kid on here...

probably you bucko!!! all jokes aside birdville will be fine just depends on what they do between then and now. anyways

after looking at these very political enrollment numbers we can HOPEFULLY say that only aledo moves up. Azle is right on the brink tho.

We have the official list of all the bands in 5A area f
bolded will be bands moving down from 6a
underlined will be bands that moved up from 4a
Bands with an * made 1s at region last year

Im a little surprised with aledo, granbury moving up to 6a area b and eagle mountain coming to area f (for I think the first time..) and then Cedar Hill + legacy moving down. I think this area will be a lot easier but still very very hard with 2 state finalists (not including aledo) and 4 advancing to state. There are 32 bands with 29 that got ones last year, sooo maybe we can see 6 bands advance to state next year. And if we do see 6 bands advance we could see grapevine kids or azle kids advance or maybe even birdville kids. We shall see, and with the added mix of these 4a bands and 6a bands we could see some change in the area finalists.

Fossil Ridge Chisholm Trail and Paschal are now listed as 6a on the tmea alignment map.

Not unrealistic to possibly only see 4 bands advance to state in this area now that we have lost some area qualifiers right?

Not sure if bait or just shooting from the hip... 🤔

This area was on the edge of 5 or 6 advancers last season, not 5 or 4 advancers. Sending only four would require a major drop in 1s at region.

Area F is losing Granbury and Aledo, but gaining Cedar Hill, Eagle Mountain, and Mansfield Legacy, all of whom made 1s at region this past season. That's a net gain, not a loss. So, there's the resulting Grapevine/Birdville/etc. math.

According to the TMEA/UIL alignment map we’re going to have a net loss of 2 bands, but that’s only if eagle mountain moves up to 5a. UIL hasn’t given them a classification, which I’m guessing is because they were extremely close to the cutoff number. If Eagle mountain stays in 4a, it’s completely possible to only have 4 state advancers next year.

They just updated the map again. Now only Granbury and Aledo are leaving.
