MarchingBandNerd805 Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 darn, Area G is one of those areas where, no matter how many times the bands have competed against each other leading up to area, you never really know what’s going to happen. I’ve never seen anyone make an accurate prediction. It’s always so nerve-wracking! I'm very excited! enderplayz17 1 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 Good morning everyone! Good luck to all the bands competing here today!!! bassboneman and enderplayz17 2 Quote
enderplayz17 Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 Yes! Good luck everyone competing! Is there anyone at Area that could reliably post scores tonight? I’m too excited to see how this day plays out! Quote
UnduePizza26 Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 Best of luck to everyone today!! If anyone attends prelims/finals, it would be amazing to hear y’all’s thoughts on all of the bands! Hopefully sometime soon we’ll have live streamed Area contests haha. enderplayz17 1 Quote

956bands Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 Should be a very exciting contest Today! Hopefully we see a few jumps maybe Hanna will show that late peak and possibly get that 3rd spot. United Vs. Alexander should be interesting, the battle for 1st most likely. Edinburgh and Edinburgh North fighting for a finals spot if say PSJA or Harlingen mess up. What about the bottom runners they deserve some talk too! From what I've seen at the Laredo competitions United South is better with their new HBD who was previously United's assistant director. As for the rest of the bottom runners it will probably be in order from lowest to highest, Economedes, LBJ, La Joya, United South, Bville Vets, then San Benito to round it up in the bottom runners. As for my predictions for state/finals, it will be close but I would say, Laredo United Laredo Alexander Los Fresnos Hanna Weslaco Harlingen Edinburgh North Honestly, United's show is from what I have seen a very challenging and demanding show, hopefully that doesn't ruin it for them tomorrow but their show was a fan favorite in Laredo and in USBands Austin. Alexanders concept is very intriguing to me and their playing is near perfect. Weslaco, I haven't looked at them but 2nd at City Of Palms, could be scary tonight. Los Fresnos, I like their show and I can respect how clean they've preformed it so far. Hanna, although a rough start to the season I still believe that that state spot is in reach. Harlingen, possible finals for them again would love to see it! as for my overall Predictions 1. UNITED HS 2. ALEXANDER HS 3. LOS FRESNOS HS 4. HANNA HS 5. WESLACO HS 6. HARLINGEN 7. EDINBURG NORTH HS 8. PSJA HS 9. EDINBURG HS 10. SAN BENITO HS 11. BROWNSVILLE VETS HS 12. UNITED SOUTH 13. LA JOYA 14. LBJ 15. ECONOMEDES This year is so exciting! Those laredo schools are scary! Both Alexander and United have been undefeated against all the RGV schools, could that change today? Finally scores at area always change from prelims to finals, this will always lead to some shake ups come finals. Happened 2022 with United, 2023 with Alexander and PSJA, and 2024 with Los Fresnos. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE BANDS PERFORMING TODAY AND BEST OF LUCK TO ALL THE STUDENTS AND MUSICIANS OUT ON THE FIELD TODAY! GIVE IT YOUR ALL AND LETS SHOW STATE SOME 956 PRIDE! Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Congratulations to JBA, Hannah, and Edinburg for advancing to state!! enderplayz17 1 Quote
SpudMuffin Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 JBA, Hanna and Edinburg - great! I guess these weren't the expected results. LOL Figured Hanna would do it - experience matters. Anyone surprised by Harlingen and PSJA missing finals? What happend to the supposed lock in with United? JBA - big sound - big band - you guys perform with confidence. Pretty good sound - but visually?? Lot's of work to do on the end - a line is supposed to be a line. Hanna - poised, energetic, great solos - unbelievable band sound. Sooooooo much better than last week. Edinburg - it's been a long time since they've achieved like this - way to go!! Weslaco - oh so close Anyone see or have a recap sheet? Did the new Area judge format make a difference? enderplayz17 1 Quote
956bands Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Wow! The results really shook up the area. Harlingen and PSJA not making finals. United and Los Fresnos falling in the ranking. Both Edinburgs making finals and 1 making state! Ofc Alexander winning the area title congrats to them for twice in a row now! A big shocker to me was United barely making finals and then getting 5th at finals and after a season of winning. This really shows how area can change everything. Congrats to Hanna as well! I know a lot of people were doubting them including myself but they showed us why we should never count them out! Also very unfortunate for United because throughout their prelims run, their props were getting pushed away by the wind and 1 even fell over. However very entertaining competition and every band put their all out there! Also I want to point out my bottom runners prediction for United South was correct as they did not get last and beat a few programs too! Congrats To Everyone Who Participated Yesterday! And Good Luck To Alexander, Hanna and Edinburg At State! Quote

Good thing you’re not a judge and I don’t know what show you were watching because they won first in visuals both prelims and finals. Great job to everyone great performances yesterday. Hanna’s experience never fails to amaze congrats on another state run! Edinburg great show happy to see you guys on a state run. Some of the results weren’t what people expected and none of us are judges. Let’s respect the results and not dog on groups. A lot of groups did amazing this year! It would be nice if area G had more going to state but it is what it is. This year the area kept it very competitive great job to everyone and good luck at state to JBA, Hanna, and Edinburg! MarchingBandNerd805 Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Congratulations to all the bands!!! JBA did what they came there to do with Hanna and Edinburg getting the other 2 spots. I was there for both prelims and finals so here are my thoughts: The Valley bands are getting SO MUCH BETTER. After hearing all these bands, especially the finalist bands, each one of them had something just absolutely amazing that impressed me. It makes me so incredibly happy seeing them improve every year. The placements definitely surprised me! I heard united’s both performances and they sounded amazing. Of course i don’t wanna say the judges are wrong, but it’s just very confusing! I do think they should’ve been way higher. I’m not sure what happened, but that must’ve been heartbreaking for the kids💔 Another band that really impressed me was Los Fresnos. They were just so clean and that brass was AWESOME. Overall, it’s a little hard for me to understand what the judges were looking for. But at the end of the day i’m not a judge! EVERYONE sounded awesome and this year has been a blast for 6a Area G! Already excited for next year!! enderplayz17 1 Quote

I think Weslaco and Edinburgh tied, I thought there was a way for both to make it? Not sure but hmm. I really wanted them to make it. Proud of all the bands that made it, I can not be more proud as an Alumni!!!! Quote
SpudMuffin Posted October 27, 2025 Posted October 27, 2025 How do ya'll think the Area G bands will do at State? Will JBA's early slot hurt them? Will all of Area G finish at the bottom as usual? Which group will rank the highest? Anybody gonna go watch? enderplayz17 1 Quote
enderplayz17 Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 1. Alexander 2. Hanna 3. Edinburgh Placements of Area G bands at state. Pretty much the exact same results as area! Was a really fun year and I can’t wait to see what next year brings! Re-allignment is gonna change a ton of things up, but I’m hoping it’ll bring good change! So so proud of Hanna this year (even if I was attacked online by some of their members…) and hope to see them dominate 5a if they switch! Quote
