I don’t know if previous guy has listened to any of Pace’s shows, but their high brass (to me) is one of the strongest in the valley. I think their selections really highlight that. I’ve personally always loved Pace (even as a Hanna alum) and have hoped to see them make it to the State competition. I also wanna see how Sharyland does next year. Usually love their shows. Quote

And with Sharyland, they’ve always come up with cool quirky show themes that just work perfectly. One thing I like about them is their use of trombones previous years. Me personally, I also see Lopez making it because of their overall brass sound. Hoping for Brownsville to be better represents this year! Quote

Roma dominant as always. Very great brass line they have there. Sharyland schools are also very easy picks. And Lopez brass smacks hard and they’ve had a long streak of making to state. However just like some bands in the valley in previous years, it could be possible chance that streak could end… But this is pretty low chance since they are usually a very consistent band and they know how to stay focused, but then again Area G can definitely cause some shockers and upsets…. So who knows what can happen this year😦 Quote

But last year during finals they tied with Rgc for a state spot and they were not chosen to state which I know caused many upsets in the community. One thing for sure is that they will definitely be working harder than ever this year and even my director has stated, “They will be extra hungry this year for that state spot😂” so they will definitely be pushing this year. The Mellos sound really good and have really fun lines and a lot of cool classic pieces that will get the audience up! Great show! Quote

Woodwinds match the brass in energy and aggressiveness in the best way possible! Their dance team/color guard is amazing. Their soloist at the beginning is phenomenal. I love their trees and their use of them. The music is fantastic! Congratulations to them on Grand Champions last night!
