is it just me or has this area gotten more competitive than area c

I agree, to an extent. I think Area B is more competitive at the Area level (who will advance to State is a question too close to call), while Area C is more competitive at the State level (it's easier to guess who will advance, and they tend to perform better at State overall).

With Area C looking like it's only going to be sending 6 bands to State this year, though, instead of 7 (like last year), I think this year's Area C competition will be a bit more competitive.

Great to see 30 bands advancing! This means we will have at least one new face at State compared to last year! Two bands have competed; however, their scores are not out yet, and another three still have yet to compete. If everything goes perfectly, we will see 35 bands at Area, meaning 7 advance to State! I don't personally think that'll happen (I'm thinking 32 or 33 at Area), but it's still possible.

The bands that have competed but whose scores have not been released yet are:
Hillsboro
Lorena

The following bands have Region in the coming days:
David W. Carter (Wednesday morning)
Townview Center (Wednesday morning)
Ranchview (11:45 am Tuesday)

Good luck to those last three bands!

Also, something interesting that I've never seen before: every band that advanced got straight 1s. No 1-1-2s this year. Fun little tidbit there!

Pretty sure Hillsboro made a 1 and Lorena made a 2

Any predictions now that everyone has gotten to see everyone’s show?

I definitely believe Krum will make state this year! The top 2 should still be between China Spring and Panther Creek

12 finals spots opens up some interesting possibilities for new faces.  Sanger, Godley, Prosper Richland, Kennedale, Brock, other? Who is it going to be?

Any opinions on Kennedale? I saw their show on Saturday and I think, at least compared to last year, could have a decent chance of making finals but idk. What do y’all think?

How many of y’all were in Godley, watching the bands on Saturday??? You make the 3rd including me. Region 30 makes for some great bands, Kennedale has definitely got something special this season! Any thoughts on Godley or Alvarado? I saw Alvarado earlier in the season and would say they could be a State qualifier.

Godley has a pretty cool show for sure. If they have a good prelims run then I wouldn’t be surprised of them sneaking into finals.

The downside to Kennedale, they’ll perform first, now Godley also has a tough spot at 3rd with Alvarado right behind them. That’s gonna be a fun morning.

2025 4A AREA MARCHING SCHEDULE - SCHEDULE.pdf

Kinda sad they're not waiting until Region 20 performs tomorrow to post the schedule. I know those bands don't tend to do well, but I still feel like they should've waited just in case. Kinda hope one of them gets a 1 now so that they have to fix the schedule (times won't change drastically if that happens). Also, it's pretty interesting that there are only two judges' breaks, and one of them is the lunch break. Don't really care how much I love band, don't think I could sit and watch them with a keen eye for almost 3 hours before itching to get up and stretch.
