As of 10/19

10 Bands have qualified for Area C (7 Open and 3 Military)

Region 10 - Anahuac/Kirbyville/Orangefield/Warren/Woodville (Warren/Woodville were not at Area last year)

Region 21 - Arp/Winona (Both were not at Area last year)

Military - Buna, West Rusk and Troup.

Schools that were at Area last year that did not qualify were East Chambers, Kountze, Tatum (made it to Area Finals)

There are 9 bands left to perform on Wednesday in Region 3.

There are 20 bands left to perform on Tuesday in Region 4.

If all 29 bands make it (shot in the dark) that would be 39 total bands with 7 spots going to state.  This week Area C needs a minimum of 25/29 bands to qualify in order to take 7 to state which I don't see happening. I think it will be greater than 20 but less than 25.

It's showing online that Warren received a 2 and Woodville received a 3.

I just noticed that Atlanta got a 1-2-1 at region. That’s shocking. I haven’t seen them yet this year so I don’t know if it was a fluke or what.

I checked it a second ago and it showed 1-1-1 but now it says 1-2-1. What is everyone else seeing? It shows Rob Toups gave them a 2. I would trust his judgment.

To me that would feel like a mistake, right?

I really don’t know. I’m doubting what I saw now.

now it says 1-1-1 again. What the heck is going on?

Region 4 is on track to send 15-16 bands.    Need region three to bring 5 or 6 to get us to 30 bands to take 6.   If not, there's going to be a very good band left out of the mix for State.

i watched the whole morning block.    I dunno about the 1-2-1 for Atlanta.  Mineola and Atlanta were the class of the first block by far.

In order for Area C to take 5 to State they will need 2 of the 9 to advance and to take 6 they will need 7 of the 9 to advance.

Looks like lots of regions are down this year.

Hoping for good weather at Area.    Bad weather can upend several of the bands.   It really caught me off guard how some of the mainstays got Div 2 this year.     New Boston has been a perennial finalist at Military state.   Just wondering if the competitiveness of that region is a hindrance compared to other regions.   Stellar judges though.

I was wondering that too. New Boston floored me, and I was surprised by mt. Vernon. I trust these judges though.

Yeah I trust these judges too Rob Toups retired director of Canton who has numerous skins on the wall and has judged tons of competitions on all levels. Jon Weddle the director of Celina and Tom Mensch former director of Whitehouse who is currently a professor at SFA.

Jefferson is corps style, that makes 10 bands from region 4.

I don't know why I thought Jefferson was military.

Well, today I learned something new. I could’ve sworn they were military as well. I guess Jefferson is so quintessentially east Texas that I made an assumption. I was wondering how their new director was handling the move to military, but…I guess he’s not since they are corps. Haha.

Whose is the region 3 secretary.     Whoever it is, is not on top of posting like other regions....and it's been consistently bad.     Perhaps a change is needed.

So far 3 out of 5 have advanced so as of now Area C will take 5 to State for now.

I’m pretty sure only Commerce, Edgewood, Grand Saline and Lone Oak were the only ones that got first divisions.

Looks Ike a competive slate of participants.    No predictions here.   All one has to do is look at last years line-up.    Let's hope for good weather.   And congratulations to everyone who made it this far.   It's an achievement in itself.   Can't wait to see the epic performances.       Thank you @TexasStrangers for keeping this group informed.

What's the hold up with this schedule being released??? I'm ready to plan my Saturday!!

That's my thought as well. I was planning on going to watch but don't know why a schedule has not came out yet. All the other 3A Area schedules were posted by last Thursday. Maybe someone with a connection knows why.....

The only prediction that I will make is that at least two or three bands who would have easily advanced from any other area will watch state from home. 😕
