Where are you getting your weather updates from? I'm hoping mine is accurate but it's also Texas so we never know 😂

I think it will be very very last minutes. I bet we won't find out until a band or 2 before they call prelim results. They have to finish before midnight and if it is like 9:30 when prelims ends and they think they can finish finals by midnight then we might get both.

The Mesquite forecast on the Weather Channel app is now showing < 25% chance of rain throughout the entire contest schedule.  Usually, a forecast like that ends up being no rain at all. 

It looks increasingly likely that they’ll be able to get the full contest in.

The City of Mesquite also doesn’t have any kind of curfew at all, so if weather cooperates, I would expect a full fledged contest, with maybe a drum major retreat instead of a full retreat for finals if it’s either raining or there are delays that push things really close to midnight.

With the current forecast, it’s possible that the start of the contest could be delayed slightly. If not by much, it shouldn’t affect the finals start time.

It might depend on the Stadium and their rules.

Well, storms not coming in until 10:15-10:30….may have been able to get in tonight but looking at it now, glad my band kids had time to have a good family dinner and evening of rest. Looks like most of rain will clear out early.

It looks like we are GOLDEN for prelims! I’m still a little unsure about finals - two different weather apps show different forecasts for the night. If it does rain, I think the start time could be delayed, but we may still be able to get a finals.

Hoping for the best tomorrow! I had something come up for the morning, so I will miss the first block of bands, but I will be there after the lunch break!

Looks like the rain dances worked! Rain shows that it'll stop around 9am and the chances of it picking up again are pretty low. I'm much more hopeful for a full prelims and finals  contest, with maybe a delayed start time. Again though it is Texas so we never know 🤷‍♂️
