There are currently three possibilities for area

1. The contest start time is delayed, still have prelims and finals but it has to be over by midnight

2. The contest moves to a prelims only contest

3. The contest is moved to Monday

We will not know which option is chosen until Saturday, and of course there's the possibility of it not even raining and the contest running on a normal schedule

I really think it's gonna be 1 or 2. After lasts years overreaction, they might play it less safe.

Rockwall varsity home game has been moved to Thursday. 
 

At the moment, Longview has chosen to NOT move their Friday home game to Thursday. 
 

This would be a disadvantage for Rockwall Heath if Band is expected to go out to Longview 2.5 hours, potentially in rain coming back night before Region. 
 

Have seen bands leave at halftime before (think Rockwall did last year). 
 

Wonder if band will stay home

Pearce's football game has been moved from 7:00p to 4:30p on Friday, I would assume they'll leave after halftime cause of an early Saturday call time

I’m pretty sure the Heath band’s booking it back home right after halftime, it should allow them enough sleep. I also heard Rockwall’s stadium rehearsal might be canceled now due to the schedule change, I reckon that would be a disadvantage for them.

Think they still working that. A Thursday performance is definitely not the same as a stadium practice.  Wonder if they could practice at indoor facility before game? No situation is “ideal” for any band!

Considering heath will make it back right around the time they would if they were at a full time home game I wouldn't say they're at a disadvantage. Rockwall losing a 2 and a half hour rehearsal where they could've cleaned some dirty visuals however is a huge disadvantage. Hopefully they're able to use an indoor facility to still get that practice in.

It's increasingly looking like it will be the third option (rain through 6pm). Which sucks because that means I can't go on that Monday.

RHS now practicing before the game and bussing over to the game.

That’s what I was saying yesterday some of these programs are going to lose extremely valuable rehearsal time. Very disadvantageous

I think most of these bands will be ok! I think if it rains all weekend and things get pushed to Monday, nobody wins in that scenario. I know least one Area has moved theirs….but I think they will wait until at least Friday morning. 😂

1 and 2 seem like the best of this time, with 1 sounding even better by the minute.. they for sure wouldnt want to postpone it back to back years...
