Guess I need to go check out JJ Pearce, North Forney and Garlands show.
Was this like an AI generated list? Who or what designated the points?

After you submit your predictions in the predictions part of site, you can click on the aggregate scale that takes everyone's predictions and merges them into one. I enjoyed Garlands show at Region. Likely won’t make finals but I really enjoyed.

Good Question. Royse City will likely drop to 5A because they are opening a second school, but that may be the next redistricting because it wont open until a year from August.

I could see Waxahachie dropping back to 5A when their 2nd HS opens in 2027.

Does anyone know anything about weather affecting this area? I'm hearing they moved it to a prelims only contest

Where are you hearing this from? I doubt someone would make a decision on this three days out considering the bipolarity of Texas weather.

I would’ve expected a decision sometime between Thursday evening and Friday morning when weather conditions are more set in stone.

I'm hearing the directors recieved an email about it this morning. I'm hoping things change and they go back to a normal schedule.

A decision won’t be made till the day of. Area C & Area J will both make the decision the day of.

Realizing now some bands have Thursday evening rehearsals. Losing that to a game is not good. Especially for programs needing that extra time to make a good push. Can’t really practice on Friday because of rain unless you do it indoors and or your school has a covered field.

they aren't doing a Friday morning rehearsal since there's no rain, from what I've heard they're just doing a longer comp day rehearsal Saturday (or my guess Sunday all day if it gets rained out saturday) since they go super late anyway

My predictions, I'm going to probably watch a video of the most recent recordings I can find and make another listing soon.

#1 Waxahachie: Obvious reasons, they have been extreamly clean all season. I could see anyone in the top 3 taking this over depending on weather and good vs bad runs.

#2 Forney: I have only seen their percussion show but if their percussion has improved as much as their band then this is where I seen them ending up.

#3 Sachse: Last time I saw them was at Birdville. I wasn't crazy blown away like I was last year with their show but it was respectable. Loud clean brass and other than some small timing issues with visuals they were very good.

#4 Rockwall: Saw their show in mid September and it was decent. They were moving at such a high speed for how fast they were getting their show on the field. I'm sure with how long they have had some of that drill on the field they will be extreamly clean.

#5 Rockwall Heath: Haven't seen this show live but I saw a clip of them and jeez do they sound good compared to last year. It's crazy how they went from sneaking into finals last year to being in the conversation for state.

#6 Berkner: Saw this show just a few weeks ago. Some spacing issues and some feet out of time but assuming they clean all that up I could see them even higher than this but for safety I'll put them here.

#7 Duncanville: It was a fine show at Birdville. I have respect for the their show but I don't see this holding up to where the rest of the area is.

#8 JJ Pearce: The director changes has been helping them out a lot. I see them doing well but with any director changes there will be some hardship with it and I think despite all the good work that is being done I don't see them doing much better than this.

#9 Lake Highlands: Ive said it many times now but they just are not holding up to the standard that they have been at in the past. Feet out of time through most of the show, weak sound, and slightly above average percussion. I did enjoy the solos and trombone ensemble but I just wish I got a little bit more from each one.

#10: Toss up, Richardson, North Forney, Royce City, and I'm sure some other bands: I haven't seen enough from the 3 bands I mentioned and I'm sure there are bands that could sneak in. I look forward to seeing the prelims scores for who will tough it out into finals.

This seems to be (mostly) the agreed predictions

If it ends up getting rained out the make up date is Monday. Could directors have practice on Sunday? Sure. Will they? Idk 🤷🏿‍♂️.  I do know some programs will still have a Friday morning rehearsal but that’s gonna be it until Monday (if rained out Saturday) I’d imagine the top 3-4 bands wouldn’t be that impacted. It’s the #5-10s where I can see this playing a major role in their preparations.

There doesn't look to be too much rain from 1PM-midnight... there does seem to be some light showers (HOPEFULLY) all comp long...
