I definitely think out of all the captions percussion will be the closest out of all of them. Heaths pit seems to be doing a lot better after they hired I believe berkners percussion director (I could be wrong feel free to correct me) a couple years ago. I do think Forney and Waxahachie have the strongest chances at taking the caption though.

You greatly underestimate my ability to dress my sons in those clanging monkey uniforms. Give Rockwall percussion and visuals 😂

Forney
Wax
Rockwall Heath(I know call me crazy but their pit is crazy)
Maybe Berkner (2nd at Lonestar in 2023 and 4th in 2024, this year I think they have a chance to win Lonestar drumline contest)

no sachse???? i get their individual perc isnt too good, but i mean... they had the best perc score at state last year, and even with the book being easier, they still execute at a high level. I may not see them winning, but I for sure see them at 2 or 3.

I've been looking at the numbers and comparing the scores from state sheets (Birdville) to the area sheets (McKinney). Obviously not a 1/1 perfect comparison, but it is helping me make a more informed prediction lol.

3-5 is gonna be an incredibly tight battle. It will be close between Sachse and Rockwall - I could see either one being 3rd. Rockwall-Heath would have to take some strides in the visual dept. to make a run at a state spot, but they are easily the top contender to steal a spot from one of those two.

Grapevine is a good band to compare North Forney, Pearce, and Duncanville to since they were at both contests. I'm very confident that NF and JJP will both be finalists, given the results shown.

I am less confident about Duncanville now - their WW and Perc scores at Birdville, translated into the area sheet, would've been lower than both NF and JJP at McKinney. Now, they still have one of the best brass sections in the area, and their ensemble playing in general will probably keep them in the top 10. Given their history, it would most definitely be shocking, but I could see them barely missing the cut if other bands that have been drastically improving have the run of their lives.

So you would have Wax, Forney, Sac, RW, and RHHS in your top 5 random draw?

If you are RHHS….based on your idea most able to push RW or Sac….where would you hope to march in the last 5?

Want your kids going first or last?

I wouldn’t want the pressure of playing after those bands. Definitely first. But ultimately, you can only control how you perform.

And yes, that would be my top 5.

Honestly, in the eyes of a Heath director, I would for sure have them go first in that top5 random draw. With an early prelims performance time, it's already set to be a LONG day for Heath, so I'd be happy just to get the first slot where the band will be tired, but not drained if they were to go last, just to get the Area process over with and see our fate for the season.

In this case, anybody that isn't Heath, would REALLY love that final late slot for finals. They perform near the end of the order in prelims, so if I were those 4 directors, I'd be happy anything thats 3rd to last to last.

Tyler Legacy's performance tonight.

Lowkey this could make finals

After attending Mckinney and BOA, this felt slow in parts and seemed like drumline was drowning out music! Both may just be the video and sound quality! Can’t wait to see in person at Area though! Finals is definitely in play!

And there may be a few of them that could make a surprising climb too.

Do we know why Berkner's region result hasn't been posted?

No, good question. Did they go to
Region? I know Wylie had to go to a different Region Day due to  BOA. Could it be something similar?

Rain looks to be scattered in small bunches for the day. Hoping for the best on no lightning!

Think that last block of day would be most likely for delay if at all.
