JV marcher here, and I feel like while we may have an advantage, the judges obviously know what all is happening and they should score accordingly Quote

Yeah judges should be more kind to bands in the rain. The only issue is they might be to kind or forget some of the earlier performances Quote

tubapop Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Poor cinco ranch. Were it not for Cy lakes DQ, cinco would’ve gone to state. Yeat, triaxly, jetliner and 2 others 5 Quote
ruben_f Posted November 3, 2024 Author Posted November 3, 2024 that some crazy results??!? a judge gave Jordan 17? But If finals did happen we will have a new finalist!!!! “langham creek” Quote
cincoglazer123456 Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 How did Jordan get 20th in brass? I thought their show was very good ChristopherRoden 1 Quote

sigh Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 It's pretty crazy how close Jordan, langham, Tompkins, Katy, and cy ranches rankings were Jet total - 33 Jordan total - 43 Tompkin total - 46 Langham total - 46 Katy total - 47 Cy ranch total - 47 Quote
HagsTPT Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 when we performed at 10:30 THE FELID WAS SO DRENCHED EVERYONE KEPT SLIPPING LIKE CRAZY FOR LEFT TO RIGHT THERE WERE PROBABLY 3 PEOPLE WHO SLIPPED AND FELL ON THE GROUND but overall im very shocked on the overall results and saddened that cinco won’t go to state this year 😞 Quote
AidenB27 Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 the scores were almost never consistent between all of the judges, not the rankings i expected at all Quote
Sideswiperr Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Correct me if I’m wrong, but who would’ve been a finalist between cy ranch and Katy? Quote
ChristopherRoden Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Seems like the group who struggled most with the rain were the judges…. They were so vastly not on the same page with each other tubapop 1 Quote

Clamp Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 I could have never predicted any of this to happen. A billion rain delays Langham ties with Tompkins for 8th Ranch does not make finals and woods beats Bridgeland. Quote
Popular Post 11BandMan11 Posted November 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 3, 2024 I try and stay as positive as I can, but I have a problem when adults decisions make things an absolute dumpster fire like it was for this contest. Multiple groups having to 'redo' their performances (even though it was BLATANTLY obvious on every weather radar app I could find that there was going to be a lightning delay during the groups performance), groups having to make the ridiculously insane choice of annihilating their equipment (both school owned and students personal instruments) in the rain, groups who had to sit on buses for 4-5 or more hours (looking at you all in that last block), etc. There HAS to be a better way or access to domes locations for UIL Area Marching contests to be held in a way that keeps students safe, does not force students into terrible performance situations, directors to make horrendously difficult decisions on equipment with the rain, etc. I feel terrible about this entire contest. Don't get me wrong, it was fun to watch a few good performances, but man did that suck overall having to watch children be forced into not positive performances, and for most of them, finish their seasons that way. Good luck to the groups going to state and look forward to seeing Area I hopefully represented in State Finals too! ruben_f, jetliner, HagsTPT and 4 others 7 Quote

Yeah, that was quite interesting considering it was due to a 20th in brass. And the other one gave them higher numbers. Idk but it almost looks like they wanted to cause chaos with the 4th for Brigeland to.... Quote
