Churchill Fulshear - 44 I am shocked, Foster in 8th is insane. I lowkey thought Pasadena Memorial was done in prelims, but to make finals and jump to 7th is crazy. Well done by Clements! Showed everyone wrong, even I thought they were in jeopardy In making finals, idk how I feel about them in 6th in prelims. Clear Lake, very much proud of them. The top 5 to state was lowkey not surprising at all, good job to everyone! AL0022, youraveragebandkid and Online Marcher 3 Quote
Popular Post SubZer0 Posted November 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 3, 2024 Foster 8th is crazy Clements one spot from state in prelims is crazy This area is crazy Good job to everyone who competed Good job to all finalists who survived the Area E Bloodbath of 2024 band kids: say thank you to your parents, they deserve it On to region and concert season o7 AL0022, a center marimba, TubaBuke and 2 others 5 Quote

Popular Post Oboeish20 Posted November 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 3, 2024 Somethings of note: - Brazoswood 24th in Prelims. - Foster scratching into Finals by 2 ordinal points. - Highest ever placement by a Pasadena ISD Band at an area contest (7th) - Dawson winning music over Pearland in Finals - Stephen F. Austin advancing to state with only 1 judge having them advancing. Online Marcher, TheSV-001Gamer, youraveragebandkid and 4 others 7 Quote
TheSV-001Gamer Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 At the same time the judging was ok, like the finals looked sorta consistent, but there were bands riddled with like a 5 from one judge The prelims judging is straight up crazy bro Deer Park over Clear Falls is insane work Other examples like that follow, Quote
Popular Post youraveragebandkid Posted November 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 3, 2024 Y’all might not agree with me when I say this but I think performance time really screwed us over. Tubalord11 Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Good morning everyone! Just now getting on after a long day yesterday, so time to start making my rounds of congratulations. Congratulations to Pearland, Dawson, Clear Brook, Dickinson and SFA on making state!!! Was a bit surprised with how Foster did, but other than that nothing to shocking! Dawson really coming out strong after not placing as high as some might have anticipated at the two Boa comps, so big ups to ya'll! Congrats to everyone who competed here, great stuff from these programs! lizzard2027 and Online Marcher 2 Quote

Brandon his scores we’re literally all over the place and also i’m pretty sure these judges were biased because they came from the districts of bands that were there and their bands went to finals shocker right? I get those bands are good but Pasadena Memorial was screwed for prelims but they had a judge from their district and they made finals when they definitely didn’t do the best. I’m just saying UIL did not pick the best judges for this event. Untrue, no judges were from the Houston area or Pasadena ISD. If they were truly biased towards Pasadena Memorial they would of been placed higher. The judges were all from the Dallas Austin Area From my understanding you are misunderstanding how Freedom Field before finals announcements, announced the representatives from several districts not just Pasadena ISD. NOT the judges If this were the case other schools in Pasadena ISD would of been placed higher. And you can't deny that Pasadena Memorial had consistent judging in Finals that put them over bands like Clements, Fulshear, and Foster. If they didn't deserve it they would of placed 10th in finals. The prelims judging was wacky I do understand that. Online Marcher, flootbrownies, a center marimba and 1 other 3 1 Quote

I was not trying to down them in finals but i did think they were screwed in prelims due to the rain and weather during their performance and thank you for correcting me that was my mistake and prelims was wacky Quote
