euro_euph06
I really think that the Cavaliers scores was due to the fact that it was their second "home" show since some of the brass players are from UH and one of their staff members teach there. Also, the judges might have wanted to cause a wave going into San Antonio. But we all know who is going to win SA: BLUE DEVILS

euro_euph06
Can someone tell me the story behind the person that was marching around the perimeter of the field for SCV? I was not there but I am assuming that he/she was an alternate. Most likely a guard member that comes in on big impacts and such.
Brian Ngo
It was a soprano player. THey did all the horn pops and such but did not march at tempo or anything
mbui
He was probably injured. They have a couple of injured members right now.

bluebellbrass07
Oh man i wouldve paid extra for that encore. They played excerpts from 89, 03, and topped it off with Elsa's procession the the cathedral.
Lustra.exe
more importantly, did anyone notive that carolina crown is scoring higher than madison, and inching toward scv. looks like they are getting serious.
Keyboard_Countessa
Even thought it was the first time I've seen Crown, I can definitely see that "getting serious" aspect; they were below SCV by only .05 point, and I was impressed by their visuals and drill (considering I usually pay more attention to the pit, that's saying a lot). mbui
QUOTE (Brian Ngo @ Jul 20 2006, 11:01 PM)Can someone tell me the story behind the person that was marching around the perimeter of the field for SCV? Saw what you were talking about in San Antonio last night and it all came to me..... Since SCV's show is all about motion....something has to be moving at ALL times. The person that marched the perimeter of the field started in the lower right corner of the field and ended the show (right before the tag ending) where he started off. So basically, he started in the lower right corner, end up on the upper right corner at the end of Movement I, end up on the upper left corner at the end of the Movement II and so on. During the tag ending, he marched on to the field and crashes into the cymbal "V". Classic Vanguard move....creative idea and perfect timing! bored2damax
That SCV show made me fall in love with them. I definitely thought their show was cool. I really , really, really liked the Cavaliers show, it was awesome. Im just curious why this was the first time that they pass the blue devils this summer.
