I can't decide....Ticheli's "Cajun Folk Songs" bring back so many memories from junior high, but yet Whitacre's music--especially October--is B-E-A-Utiful and kind of speaks for itself. I guess if I had to pick, I'd say Whitacre just because his music rocks

Yeah. Eric just seems to exemplify the emotional side of music better than many of the best composers of all time. Ticheli puts out good qulity music, but the true emotion lies with Whitacre.

Tichelli is cool and all, but I think theres no contest. Eric Whitacre's music is just so much more... alive? Its like the difference between... a postcard (aha no pun intended :lol: ) of the Great Wall of China, and actually hiking it (from experience I will tell you there's a HUGE difference)

i like ticheli more. i've said it once on here that i've gotten bored of whitacre and that hasn't changed. granted, i haven't heard any of his more contemporary stuff like his Paradise Lost opera, but i have no desire to listen to it.
