  1. Keep in mind that that was two weeks ago and it is still cleaner than a lot of programs are now such as Anderson and Richland.

  3. I have seen a lot of shows so I am going to dare to say neither has ever been done. Their lows scores at Denton must have PUSHED them. I bet this will be a top 5 at state and the Super Regional.
  4. No kidding. That is amazing. I bet they will be high high high high at BOA San Antonio. They can play and woah, lots of cool stuff going on.
  5. I forget about them. They sound amazing.
  6. I think it is worth noting that Berkner beat Coppell in finals and prelims-- I feel that BOA Denton is a bad representation of Berkner after all. Although it was one competition. I think this will just be a very odd state year. Methinks that locks are: The Woodlands, Marcus, James Bowie, Duncanville Top Bubble: J.V. Berkner, Hebron, Coppell, Claudia Taylor Johnson Bottom Bubble: Westlake, Ronald Reagan, LD Bell, Plano East Senior, Rowlett, Spring That is kind of the order I predict too...
  7. I can see Hendrickson in there. Their drill has cleaned up but they sound about as good as they sounded at Conroe. I think Lake Travis' biggest downfall is GE and size. Neither of those matter in UIL.
  8. Oh God. This will be fun. James Bowie Claudia Taylor Johnson Ronald Reagan Round Rock Westlake Cedar Ridge Anderson Hendrickson Churchill Lake Travis My latest non Politically Correct: CTJ Bowie Westlake Round Rock Lake Travis Cedar Ridge Ronald Reagan Anderson Pflugerville Churchill
  9. Based on what I saw last night Hendrickson could miss finals in favor for Pflugerville. I feel like Pflugerville is just cleaner. What does PC mean?
  10. I would say Chirchill going to have struggles getting in finals let alone getting a spot.
  11. Wow. That is an amazing judge panel: two Duncanville directors, a Spring Director (BOA employee), and a JJ Pearce director.
  12. 5 in this area is so great. It gives one if those other deserving bands in the area a chance. There is probably four or five bands fighting for/deserving of that spot.
  13. Ummm. Well, half of if it could be me trying to ensure that my program has a spot but I would say that Lake Travis and Westlake are both in the bubbles. I think if Round Rock gets to finals they are the strongest in the bubble but... If they have a weak performance they could lose that finals spot. They perform first out of 34 bands they need to wow the judges, which, they are more than capable of. I have no idea where Ronald Reagan will go. IMO: Locks; Claudia Taylor Johnson and James Bowie. Strong Bubble; Westlake, Round Rock. Weak Bubble; Cedar Ridge, Lake Travis, Ronald Reagan, Anderson and Hendrickson.
  14. Probably Clear Brook? 7 from Area F? 5 from Area B? Has that happened before? You know what? Area D is harder than St Louis Super Regional.
  15. Wow. I can't predict what is going to happen. The more and more I think about Bowie the more I am starting to doubt they will get first. I am having so much troubles putting Lake Travis, Ronald Reagan and Round Rock in the mix. They all seem solid but one of them can miss. I would love to be a spectator of Area D. Competing in it is a whole different story.
  16. 6 bands will go from Area D.
  17. Region 18 was great. Westlake is incredibly good this year. And Bowie. Wow. Indedible-- I am thinking they will medal at state. If they can get all of the show to sound like there first movement they could be state champ and maybe even Grand Nationals champion. Their is some clarity issues but this music is hard. Their drill is also hard and it resulted in some stuggles. I cannot say who will win area- both are amazing and both have a good show and unique challenges.
  18. Cleaning is happening! We are very thankful for all of the support and discussion.
  19. I got to thinking this: In BOA if a band ties in 10th for prelims they get to advance to finals (bar any inconsistencies- Conroe 2011, I am looking at you) and they do not do the GE score breaker. If two bands tie at UIL Area finals do they both advance?
  20. I heard the same thing. They should really consider including more bands in finals for these areas.
  21. On UIL Forms it says AAAAA.
  22. They just consistently don't match anything. I am not saying it in a bad way- it is just another way of judging that isn't seen often. I have seen almost all of those shows and would just say that it doesn't convert to a UIL scale. Remember- UIL is all about musicality and clean drill. From what I heard the Region 26 judges absolutely agreed with Lake Travis' performance too. I am certainly lot undermining any other accomplishments. There are just so many ways to enjoy a show and some excel in other aspects. This is coming from a spectator- mind you, am educated one who has seen so many of these shows live an on more than one occasion.
  23. I have seen these scores and I feel like the competition just isn't a good representation of UIL of BOA Scoring. I could be very wrong but I bet some heads will turn in six days.
  24. As I mentioned before Area D is so hard. Westlake is about as good this year as the usually are but, I cannot say that that will get them into state this time around. I mean, so many new and arising programs are pushing for those spots such as Hendrickson, Lake Travis, and Cedar Ridge. I also discussed Lake Travis and I honestly cannot see them missing. The show might be a little duller than last year but the improvement week to week is really amazing and wow, they surely have a state sound. My updated Area D Predictions are these: Bowie Claudia Taylor Johnson Lake Travis/ Ronald Reagan Lake Travis/ Ronald Reagan Cedar Ridge Round Rock Westlake Hendrickson Anderson Churchill Supposedly Round Rock performs first at Area. That is a lot of bands- almost Super Regional big. I wonder if that will make any surprising twists. I really hope they take seven! Good luck Austin bands!
