For some reason they didn't announce the alternates, but I'm positive McKinney would be the first alternate and I'm not sure who placed 8th..

Don't forget McKinney, they beat Duncanville in prelims at PEMI and finished in a close second in finals.

I was one of those folks who didn't expect Flower Mound to make finals, but when I saw their performance yesterday live I was amazed! They've always had a really tone concept and marching technique, sometimes the programming and/or visual design got in the way some years, but this year they really stepped it up. The guard really sold the show, and the band just played and marched the heck out of the program. Congrats guys!!

I apologize, I spoke to quickly..Wakeland was runner up honor band in 2009.

Summit will really put up quite a fight at the Area B contest!! They play well for a band their size, and their marching technique is really good too! I was amazed at what I saw last year at the Frisco Centennial contest.

I would really like to see Frisco Wakeland HS win state, I think they're really a force to be reckoned with, I mean the school opened in 2006 and in 2009 they placed 4th at State, then the next year they finish as runner up honor band behind Waxahachie. Great things are going over there (I'm not trying to say they aren't happening anywhere else) and I'd like to see them get some attention. We shall see haha... McKinney Boyd has a pretty good show this year, I've seen both McKinney schools and Wylie live this year and I know it'll be quite a contest for the 4A groups as well.
