  1. I did say not near future... Redistribution of students via boundary alterations. It will happen, it is a matter of when; which will not be soon, as I stated previously.
  2. Yeah, those guys will tend to do that. Sometime in the not near future when Vandegrift starts getting smaller or worse because of some new school addition, they'll just go over there to start up a program... and then leave again after the same thing happens.
  3. BOA Houston did not have much competition honestly. And in case you've forgotten, Vandegrift has been around for 2 years... Cedar Park like 10 or 11. Vandegrift will start beating CP in everything everywhere they go starting next year.
  4. So then how do you explain this year for them? Not to mention Vandegrift is taking in everything Cedar park once had... literally.
  5. It's all good, and I see that too, in which case I know people are just bsing just to see what other people are predicting. That or they might as well kiss da baby cause aint no way that **** gonna happen.
  6. Most of the people who predict RR in finals have them at like 8, 9, or 10
  7. I'm surprised at the amount of people in the predictions that think Round Rock will place in finals.
  8. Who predicts what band will get last?! lololololol k
  9. Entertaining, energetic, etc. IMO marching band should be an energetic activity (like DCI). Leave the concert music for concert season. Marcus' tempos were probably like 20 or some super slow ****.
  10. Oh okay, I see what you're saying. Yeah, I tried watching their Planets show from '08 but, like Marcus, it was painfully slow and not interesting at all.
  11. 172 is pretty good, 144 is still not that fast
  12. 120 is pretty slow...
  13. lol guys I'm kidding. I'm pretty it's obvious who will win... SEGUIN DUH
  14. A discrepancy of more than 3 places between judges imo is absolutely inexcusable, and unacceptable. I understand the whole nature of the situation that judges will see different things than the others, but being the professional, educated musicians that they are, it should almost always and nearly be a unanimous decision as to which band was better than what other band in whatever area the judges are scoring. Subjectivity should only come into play by how many points you award or take away from a band (which should be proportional to how many you award or take away from other bands), however there should generally be an objective reasoning as to who was better than who in what category. When it gets close between bands, it's completely understandable to have a 121-212, 545-454 situation, whatever the placements may be, but you know it's a problem when judges are having 4, 5, or 6 placement discrepancies with each other. Anyone who disagrees is welcome to try and justify this.
  15. Here's a few things that stand out to me (and really bother me): The marching judges have VASTLY different opinions about everyone (except for McNeil)... and the only significant inconsistency with the music judges is with Round Rock. I want to believe it's an honest sytem, but it's stuff like this that seriously makes me question the competency of UIL judges, and/or whether or not political games are being played. I just don't see how one judge can think you sounded 3rd best, and another 8th and 6th. I guess this is simply a testament as to the accuracy (or lack thereof) and cohesiveness (... or lack thereof) of the Area D judges this past saturday. p.s. This isn't a rant about how I think Round Rock should've have won (which I don't believe at all), or that I dislike the scoring system, I would simply like to know by the end of the day how well we ACTUALLY did, and I'm pretty sure every single other band would like to know how well they ACTUALLY marched too, because I know for a fact that none of them know for sure (other than McNeil).
  16. Yeah, that guy was pretty much the reason RR did not place 2nd in prelims.
  17. Akins isn't going to state... Westlake is going because they simply played and/or marched better. That is what UIL is all about. Guard is hardly a factor. Granted, I did like Churchill's show much more than Westlake, apparently the sound quality wasn't that great, which will obviously not help.
  18. How about, instead of arguing, we just leave it all on the field tomorrow... then we can see who is prepared to talk some trash.
  19. Let's be nice to each other
  20. Only 20%, though. Hopefully it doesn't.
