Forte is holding their 2nd full-weekend camp from Feb 25-27th in Burleson, TX (a suburb of Fort Worth). Registration is at 8pm Friday night and casual rehearsal starts at 9pm*. Full Registration is 8am on Saturday morning and the camp runs until 4pm Sunday. *Friday night students may arrive anytime between 8pm and midnight. Colorguard students are not required to attend the Feb or March camp, but may do so to work with the colorguard instructors to improve their skills. Contracts for Colorguard are assigned in April. Colorguard Camp for 1 day (Saturday OR Sunday) is $50 with no overnight stay. Colorguard students attending the full weekend will be responsible for the full camp fee of $100 Brass and percussion Students are responsible for the full camp fee of $100. Forte is poised to nearly double the size of the 2010 corps. Spots are closing fast. 75% of this year's corps has been contracted and we are looking to be 90% contracted after this camp. Forte is running a clinic in Katy, TX (Houston area), and will also hold one in Bossier City (Shreveport), LA area next week. Details to come. If you are interested in receiving a poster from Forte advertising the 2011 season, please fill out the following link. We are an Open Class corps, and want to get posters out in the band world here in TX and surrounding states. We don't have the resources to send to the thousands of bands out there, so we are hoping this will be a good way for the directors who want information to easily request it. This Saturday from 10am-10pm (9am Registration), Forte will hold it's February Rehearsal Fred F Florence MS - 1625 N. Masters Drive, Dallas TX 75217 The final percussion spots that are uncontracted will be filled, so this will be the last time for a new recruit to attend. We are looking for 3 Snares (5 candidates currently vying for the final 3 spots of the 7 man line), Bass #5, Cymbals (first audition, so we may or may not assign all spots this weekend), and Timpani In addition, we do have at least one spot in each brass section still open and would like to get those filled at this camp as well. Colorguard is on break until the April CAMP weekend (this is also where the Virginia and Ohio campers will be attending the Texas camp). Forte Dallas Auditions on November 28th! After successful auditions across the country, it's time to bring Dallas into the mix. Some quick points: Dallas and Houston are the primary audition sites, but students auditioning in Virginia, Georgia, South Dakota, and Ohio will all have equal chances to earn a spot All Students who audition in Texas, South Dakota, or Georgia (possibly depending on recruit's location) will need to make plans to attend all Texas Camps from Jan - May) All Students who audition in Virginia, Ohio and Georgia (possibly depending on recruit's location) will have the chance to attend more localized rehearsals for Jan, Feb, April and May. Auditionees from these locations will need to plan to attend the March Camp in Texas (Brass and Percussion) or April (Colorguard) depending on your section. All Students from all locations will be required to move-in to DFW area starting in Mid-early June for Everydays Ratings will be given out at all audition locations Contracts will be offered starting at the January Camp.
