  1. Ladies and gentlemen may i present.... the most immature person on this thread now back to an actual topic.... did anyone actually see the woodlands show before they had to pullout i heard they were expected to be a big contender
  2. i know it's probably not original but my favs are preaty basic... cavs 06, 08 phantom 08 and i dont remember if it was the blue devils or blue coats but the godfather part blue
  3. then use that motivation to go out and make the memories for others to watch
  4. ya i got a time machine too but its a website called YOUTUBE
  5. I totally disagree. When our band director (from Coppell) talks to us about how judges critique other bands he says, "They look to see if you do what you are doing clean, very rarely do UIL judges discredit a band for props or no props. As long as you do what you do clean the judges will love you." I understand our drill was easy but we played and marched the entire time. Now grant it we stopped for dramatic affect on the power notes but we marched and played the rest of the time. If a band can play running 16th notes at 180+ with 10to5 steps and clean yes, they should be HIGHLY HIGHLY rewarded. But if its really dirty at 180+ then i think they shouldnt be as highly rewarded as marching clean at 140+.
  6. As I said, it's the directors in question who would be punished if a punishment is deemed necessary. All of this immature bantering and calling for disqualification is totally off base and, frankly, quite lacking in class. It's a shame for the programs you're connected to because, as a whole, they present themselves as very respectable organizations. In a different vein, it is my understanding (though not first hand knowledge) that there is precedent for a simple reprimand in this instance. Over the past two years 8-10 bands have been reprimanded for breaking this particular rule, so it's hardly difficult to understand why Duncanville and Coppell would be treated any differently than any other group in the same situation. With that being said, I firmly believe that the same thing would have happened had it been Rowlette, Sachse, Richardson, or Lake Highlands with the issue. The rules, as vague as they are in punishment and even violation, are in favor of the ruling that was made. Can it now be laid to rest? Thank you for you maturity in this matter.
  7. Thanks. The show was REALLY rough up until Area. Alot of changes and work made it to this point and yet it still is not anywhere near perfect. But thanks.
  8. I disagree i would not be upset once the official decision was made. I'm a little more mature to let the officials make the decisions than me. Thanks you. I wasn't able to see any other bands, but that is the absolute best we have performed the show.
  9. I have no clue exactly what happened but now as the official decision has been made, lets drop the issue. This is over with. I'm from Coppell and all I am hearing is that people are upset it happened. We worked our butts off and this issue did not affect anything with our overall performance. Just please move on from this topic.
  10. xenon have you heard anything else about the sound board issue?
  11. Ya thanks everyone. I didn't even hear about the sound board problem!!! Wow I wonder how this could affect state
  12. Alright Coppell congrats to everyone else. There was defiantly an awkward silence when Rowlett was announced alternate. But I'm curious, why were people opting us the odd man out. It seems that people haven't seen everyone else's show and just going off he said/she said. I don't know just an observation.
