  1. Lake Ridge went to BOA Allen last year, but placed somewhere in the mid-teens (I think 17th)? But they went on to make State finals and I think they even won Area B as a third year school. Their visual packaging and their execution of it is absolutely insane. I think it'll translate well to BOA this year. TWCP isn't attending this regional.
  2. Do you think that more bands than usual are going to go to the Texas State Championship because BOA SA was moved up a week?
  3. Our program is now finalized as: Courtly Dances: Act 2 from Gloriana - Brittten Redline Tango - Mackey British Eighth - Elliot
  4. My solo is Concerto by Arutunian and my trumpet ensemble is Canzon by Scheidt. I need to work on double tounging for the Arutunian. I'm ready to memorize the beginning and first slow movement though.
  5. 23 / 40 in trumpet room. First time going, and I'm a sophomore, so it's all good. And plus, Area D was kind of (meaning very) tough.
  6. Going to do what I know Pre 1999 is a mystery 1999 - Music of the French Romantics. 2000 - Music of Rimsky-Korsakov 2001 - Music from Swan Lake 2002 - Music of Russian Composers 2003 - The Wind and the Lion 2004 - Corners of the Mind 2005 - Door 2 Door (The Music of Jeff Beal, Fractal Speak, His Only Friends, Spin, Resolutions, Illumination) 2006 - To Tame the Perilous Skies (arr. Michael Klesch, To Tame the Perilous Skies 2007 - A Holiday - The Music of Ron Nelson (arr. Michael Klesch, Rocky Point Holiday, Sonoran Desert Holiday and Savanna River Holiday) 2008 - Into The City (arr. Michael Klesch, New World Symphony, Dance of the Jesters, Beyond, Lex, and Ride)
  7. I actually like the growth. Except for the fact that Leander currently has 500 more students than it's designed to hold :/ But our band is growing a lot, so it's all good. I concur wholeheartedly.
  8. Lawrence Central did that also in BOA semifinals. Gooooo boa fan network!
  9. Umm. Probably not (3rd page). And in the long powerpoint the district has on demography up until 2018 (Last 5 or so slides is HS stuff), it doesn't seem like Cedar Park will grow much more and Vista repeatedly gets cut. But you never know. The district could do something to like make Cedar Park a second IB campus or request it and Vista to stay 5A. But anywayy. I want to see how Hays will do in Area D next year. With 3 powerhouses out, they may challenge for a spot to state along with Steele.
  10. That high school is going to hurt Cedar Park populationwise. Cedar Park is projected to go down to 4A level next year. Leander, Vista Ridge (maybe), and Rouse (maybe) will likely be the only 5A schools in the district come next realignment, with Cedar Park and Vandegrift being 4A.
  11. If people read the play / watched / read a synopsis of Medea, the show would make a lot more sense. Then again you can't expect that everybody has done so, kind of like LD Bell 2007. Program notes for all bands would help this situation. :DD
  12. I really hope they don't pull this off of any BOA or UIL videos. If people really think they meant to cause harm by this show, people really need to get a reality check.
  13. For the Leander-Cedar Park game, it's 8th grade night for both schools, so both schools get in a block with our eighth graders and play Gimme Some Lovin' and Land of a Thousand Dances together. Fun stuff.
  14. That's really sad to see that happen twice in a row at the same competition. I'm sure they'll do well at State.
