Just curious when was Avon beaten by Homestead multiple times this year? They have only competed against one another once and that was this past Sat. at the state finals. Homestead has a great show this year and deserved to win, they are what marching band is all about great music and marching.
They also met up at Semi-State.
-
PS: Why AREN'T they going now? They are still on the list on bands.org of bands attending Nats.
I sincerely hope for Hebron's sake they can pull another great one out...because I have been a fan the past few years!
They're not on the list of bands in the last BOA newsletter.

Winston Churchill: "From Dusk To Dawn"
Featuring the music of Steven Bryant, Saint-Saens, Le Reve, and David GillinghamThe show opens in a beautiful brass moment in Steven Bryant's "Dusk" accompanied by sounds of the approaching nightfall. The full band takes up the theme and takes us through the tranquility and beauty of the setting sun, leaving us with a note of approaching night. As we venture into nighttime we use Saint Saens "Aquarium" to reflect the emergence of nocturnal sounds and creatures, giving a sense of activity to come. The Saint Saens takes us into "Filet" one of the pieces from the hit Las Vegas show "La Reve," which translates to "The Dream." This is the meat of the program -percussion moments, jazzy interludes, and grand musical themes all reflect the emotions you may experience over the course of dream-filled night. Finally, David Gillingham's "New Century Dawn" completes the production taking us from our dreams into a grand dawn full of sweeping melodies and the promise of a new day. It will be a terrific production and has all kinds of opportunity for presentations of color, sound and emotion.

The BOA Forums have a competition amongst the members every year for a BOA predictions game. This is the second year that I'm running the DCI predictions game, and I look to win again.
DCI has changed how Worlds are operating this year-any corps that wants to participate from World Class, Open Class, or International Class, may. We may have 40+ corps in Quarterfinals this year, which will make for a long day. All Open Class corps that have indicated that they are performing at OC Championships are on the spreadsheet.
There will be a prize at the end of the season for the person that wins. If I win, the person who is 2nd will get the prize.
If you want to participate, World Class spreadsheet is attached below.
You need: Your name, your scores, corps in order, captions and send it back to me at balash@ilmarching.com or dbalash@gmail.com. They both go to the same place. Email the completed file posted above.
Scores are due by the first Monday of the season, which is June 20th at 5:00 PM CST. The G8 corps perform on Saturday and Sunday, but no scores will be released until the theater event. I'll get out the full participants list and whom each voted for sometime that week.
Feel free to post below if you will be participating. No limits on the maximum amount of people; however, the more people the play, the longer it will take me to figure out scores.
Now on to scoring:
-25 points per correctly guessed semifinalist (25 total).
-50 points per correctly guessed finalist (12).
-100 points per corps guessed in the correct place.
-100 points per corps score guessed correctly.
-100 points per caption (Brass, Color Guard, Percussion)
Additional bonuses:
-250 additional points for correctly guessing all finalists.
-500 additional points for correctly guessing all semifinalists.
-25 points for correctly guessing the top 3 in order.
-50 points for correctly guessing the top 5 in order.
-100 points for correctly guessing the top 12 in order.
-250 points for correctly guessing the top 17 in order.
-500 points for correctly guessing the top 25 in order.
-1,000 points for correctly guessing all corps in order (41, by my count.).
Any questions? Don't hesitate to ask.
corpsreps.com, fromthepressbox.com, and dci.org/scores are invaluable sources.
