jumping jacks were amazing monday night rehersal. it was freezing. 35 jumping jacks got our blood flowing a little more lol

I was browsing around the internet during class today and found a site that has a whole bunch of midi files that you can listen to. It had Appalachian Spring, one of my favorite pieces. That was one of the coolest things I've ever heard. A 25 minute long midi. How do you make songs into midi files? Do you have to rewrite them all? Or is there a program that will make them? Just wondering.... I should be asleep...but instead I'm posting on here.... zzzzzgoodnight!

So many good bands. So little to advance..... what a dilema.... too bad they all cant go. The procedures to advance are kinda unfair. Say "area x" has 15 bands, one of them is amazing, the others only so-so. And then "area Q" has 10 bands, and 6 of them are some of the best in the state. Only 2 get to advance, and then area x has one great band, and then 2 so-so bands.... get what im saying?

im bringing up an old topic but... how is their field? how is it marching wise? soft, bouncy, spongy? we have area this weekend there....just curious

It was embarrising. I only lasted like 5 seconds before i failed.

I tried, but it made me dizzy. And I only got one chance. And he put it on the hardest level... it was terrible.... Im glad no one was watching me!

I think everyone should run at least a lap a day, hepls keep you in shape. especially if you have asthma like me.

We do the same thing. Some of the random questions get pretty funny. I think we've only done it like four times this year. Most bands take 3rd quarter off, and thats the only time we are allowed to do it.

I was allowed to give push ups and laps during summer band, but now that the season is already started I dont think I am anymore. But occasionally the director will make us do push ups. Random things like not counting loud enough, getting behind the beat at one certain area of our show, etc... I think its good. Once we do them, we dont mess the same thing up again.

What do you think if someone calls you a band nerd? I am personally proud. Because yes, I am clearly a band nerd.

i love the sound of a full mello line. no matter how many it is, if they are together, i love it. the mello sound makes me want to switch instruments. but the directors wont let me.

things that rock- finding your $650 class ring after thinking it had been lost for 6 months!

I really dislike negativity. Especially when the negativity spreads. Its like wild fire. One person gets turned off to a director, next thing you know, half the band is bad mouthing them. New directors are awsome. We got a new percussion director this year, and now our line is getting great scores compared to last years.

Yea. I know that my section could also be amazing if they would all just work. There is no point in showing up to practice if you arent going to work. I dont get why people would waste their time. Dont commit to something like a serious marching band, if your not willing to actually work like everybody else.
