  1. wow i got sooo nervous at Region. I played like crap!
  2. at our school, PIT is made up of Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. Some of them have stayed in PIT because they like it more than being in Drumline. Most people in the band have the greatest respect for us, and some dont. We do go inside during summer band, but we never goof off. Its pure work for us!
  3. I have to agree, that RR's DM capes are a little over the top
  4. i have no idea what McNeil's is gonna look like next year, but i hope its good. Stony point HS Drum Majors have a kool uniform
  5. Have u seen Cedar Park's Uniforms?
  6. What do yall like in a uniform? what bands do you think have great or ugly uniforms? I know we at McNeil have pretty ugly ones, but we get new ones next year!
  7. u dont have to apologize. I understand what ur saying. I was just curious of why people thought that. Different people have different reasons.
  8. Each insturment has their own demands during marching season. For wind players its the marching. For PIT its all the chops it takes to play and the emotion that has to come from the music. The PIT is just as much part of the band.
  9. I am curious to know, those of you that have that attitude of, "The Pit doesn't work as hard as the rest of the band" Why you do think that. Enlighten me
  10. I am in the PIT at McNeil, and i am PIT Captain. I hope to one day be Drum Major. I am extremly offended by statements like this. I think the reason so many people in the band don't have much respect for the PIT is because we dont march, and yes we may not march, but what we do requires just as much talent as every other instrument. I know some of the Drumline kids who cant play our book. The PIT and the Colorguard are also a lot of what general effect falls on. We have an award we give out every Friday night called "Marcher of the Week" and our band gets so mad when PIT kids win it, but the PIT is as much part of the marching band as any other instrument. I honestly would never want to be anywhere else but the PIT (except Drum Major) I think every PIT at every school goes through discrimination. My advice and how me and my PIT deals with it. Is juts to ignore them, and to know the truth about what you do. Choose a good mallet solo to impress them by in concert season.
  11. Everyone if you are a facebook member join the group Texas Marching Bands.
  12. That is a really good point. I guess a lot of it has to do w/ honesty in following the rules.
  13. The Timpani etude is really jazzy...i didn't ever know Timpani could play Jazz haha
  14. It would be..., but i dont like RRHS...so...haha...well their show was called conspiracy theory and they had a pre recorded girl talking...
  15. Well they got a 1...no one said anything about it. So it cant be against the rules.
  16. RRHS had prerecorded voices at UIL
  17. All the percussion pieces this year are really contemporary and jazzy. They are all easier in my opinion. I think the timpani is the hardest out of them all.
  18. Somniphobia, w/ better video quality:
  19. McNeil 2006, "Saturday Morning Overtures" It's All music from Saturday Morning Cartoons, kinda like yalls show this year. And Yes the Pink think running around the Field is a pink Bunny.
  20. Not very good video quality, but you can see the basics, and hear it. McNeil's "Somniphobia"
  21. When your band does "Hey Band" or w/e u call it when the other band members come over to your band. What kinds of questions do you ask them?
  22. 5A Region 26: Westwood - I Leander - I Georgetown - I McNeil - I Cedar Park - I Stony Point - I Round Rock - I
  23. Of course RR has a good DL on the field. As they always do, but its not as good as last year. i think Cap City was a better measure of them. I have a feeling G-Town will win at Lonestar. and its just my opinion about the electronics. I don't like a show with 80% synth.
  24. I wasn't at Westlake marching contest, but i saw that RRHS almost got a perfect score in percussion. Last week they could barley hold their own against Westwood and got beat out by McNeil and Hendrickson. I honestly think that the judges at Westlake must like synthesizers much more that at Cap. City. RR's show in the PIT wise is about 80% Synth, which i don't personally enjoy. I think the judges at Cap. City were more on about where there percussion stands. I think electronics have taken over RR's shows, which will only make their program decline. Cedar Park on the other hand, from what i saw at the game has an awesome show. I love the smiley face set at the end!
