These were inevitable! Here are my predictions for GCM, classes may be separated into different posts depending on how many people are participating in the class. i'm thinking just three per post for now (JVRA is getting a post just for themselves because their class for this comp is STACKED) Cadet Novice (not too much commentary, I've never seen a cadet team): 1. George Junior High Cadets: I mean... 85.5... for a cadet team!? First comp! This is a 99.9% 1st place for them 2. Angleton Junior High School: Top 5 last year at area for their first season! 3. Friendswood Cadets: Dropped from Regional A but I still believe they have potential to medal 4: Wright Junior High School 5. E.F. Green Cadets Novice: 1. South Houston: I'm surprised they aren't promoted already!! 2. Anahuac: No dig at them, just thinking it's a transition year for them as they get settled into TCGC Cadet Regional A: 1. Madisonville Cadets

Not too familiar with too many Austin/San Antonio/RGV guards, so I apologize for my lack of coverage on them In terms of Houston for the Valentine's Day weekend: This competition will be held at Goose Creek Memorial HS and will be the debut show for some guards 2025 AA State Champion Deer Park HS will debut here, excited to see if they can achieve more than what they did last year, and it's likely they'll be promoted to A or National A if the odds are in their favor. It's their first season as a split team since 2024, so their JV team also has a good chance of being promoted too depending on how well they do. This is Nimitz's 2nd show in AA and after receiving 2nd this past weekend I'm positive they'll medal again plus have a chance of being promoted. GCM, the host, will have their first show in AA here, not too sure as to how they will score this comp! This will be Randle's first show in National A, only competing against fellow district school Fulshear. This may give them an opportunity to come on top, or it may be a slow start. With how quick they've been promoted, I believe it will be the former But, any predictions I've made so far have been near entirely incorrect so I don't consider myself a determining figure in these results. Only two teams in Novice, and I can sense South Houston taking first again. They've been having a wonderful and successful season. I've yet to see Anahuac live but for their first competition and season in TCGC getting 4th in their class is awesome!!

2026-2027 UIL Realignment

Hopefully not that LISD will be moved into Area E/F/I 😕seems ridiculous for all reasons -
Guess I’ll start it off… Thomas Randle HS getting 92 points their first comp, and then skyrocketing from Scholastic Regional A to National A as of yesterday after making WGI finals! Same story with Galena Park! This is a wonderful achievement especially with a program like Randle who’s been only doing TCGC for 4 years, so congrats for both programs!!! Gene Tomas HS making 1st place yesterday at their first winter competition of their program’s history and especially in a class as competitive as AA! What a wonderful way to start off their season

Sorry if I started this topic before anyone else who was planning to 😅 just super excited about this season and now that the site is back up it can finally be discussed!

Not much to do here until realignment... or April/May... or July... so I'll just put some of my favorite shows from this area from this past 2025 season A&M Consolidated - "Patterns in My Mind" Kempner - "Unlocked" Lamar Consolidated - "Timeless" Randle - "Auroric Dances" Porter - "Spindletop: A Portrait in Oil" Galena Park - "Enjoy The Silence" (? i may be misremembering this show name) West Fork - "Ad Astra" Splendora - "Splendorous" Baytown Lee - "Fantastic Voyage" Kingwood Park - "Oh! The Places You'll Go!" Spring Woods - "A Day in the Factory"

2026-2027 UIL Realignment
lambow93 replied to dfwhorn's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Hoping that 5A E gets changed in some way so there won't be 45 bands in the area... 😥 not guaranteed that every band will make it to area but there would still be close to 30 making it with new bands moving in from both 4A and 6A -
2026 UIL 5A State Marching Contest (Nov 2&3)
lambow93 replied to M3llos 0n t0p's topic in UIL: Upcoming Contests
i'm going to go with 1. Lebanon Trail or Lone Star, LT peaked this year after missing state last year and they are definitely on the rise plus LS is probably going to want revenge after placing 8th in finals. If not a Frisco school, then Argyle 2. Argyle. The show design for this year was questionable but they have a chance for top 3 next year. If not Argyle then LS 2nd and Argyle for 3rd 3. Burleson Centennial: consistent finalist band for the past two years and since most of the finalist bands are moving to 6A they have a BIG chance of making top 5 4. Richland/McCallum: these two were 2 points away from each other in finals, I consider this a tossup 5. Poteet: tied with McCallum and unfortunately lost the tie but they are definitely finals material i'm starting to run out of commentary lol so i'll just list the rest 6. Friendswood 7. Lake Belton/Barbers Hill 8. Hendrickson 9. A&M Consolidated 10. Harlingen South 11. Roma 12. Midlothian i'm relatively new to the state marching contest so if these are inaccurate, i deeply apologize 😠-
I don't know much about them but I'm sure consistently missing state by 1 to 2 spots since moving into 6A HAS to be driving Jordan crazy!! They'll be sure to make it within the next couple of years, they'll just have to keep going on the upward path that they are
-
This area doesn't seem to be fond to those not named Pearland... (I'm joking, but seriously what happened??? Those judges ran Foster over)
-
welcome to 5A! your predictions look solid, I haven't seen anything from Dulles but if you guys are anything like Kempner y'all have a very good chance of succeeding in this area! I find it very likely that y'all and New Caney make finals
-
i'm sure they'll find this area very relieving after being in areas with Pearland and The Woodlands LOL i feel there aren't too many bands in this area to worry about for those two (other than for NC since the other 2 NCISD schools also have very strong programs like theirs)
-
back again for the new year ! making early predictions (because i wouldn't be a txbands user if i didn't) these are truly just this past year's results pushed up (with a pinch of my own opinion) with the removal of both CS schools in the event they remove them to move them to Area D, and Barbers Hill since they are now in 6A: 1. Friendswood (no surprise here) 2. Brenham 3. La Porte 4. Kempner 5. Porter 6. Port Neches Groves 7. Randle 8. Galena Park 9. Lamar Consolidated 10. Angleton 11. Baytown Sterling 12. West Fork
-
this area doesn't change too much... losing FB Dulles, South Houston, and Goose Creek Memorial which were bound to happen and gaining Barbers Hill (also bound to happen)
-
Would this mean the new areas would have 4-5 state qualifiers for each? Also, I think Region 8 would move back too. would save them about 5 miles traveling to Pflugerville than Channelview 😅
-
With barbers hill moving up to 6A and a very slight possibility of both CS schools moving back to Area D, there is a possibility of Kempner and Porter returning to State as well as a band like PNG returning after 20+ years
-
so then that means 45... 💀
-
so it’ll only be barbers hill moving up… WB and Pasadena having missed by 5 and LP and Angleton by basically 10, Sterling by 13

2026-2027 UIL Realignment
lambow93 replied to dfwhorn's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
not 4A, but schools like New Braunfels dropping from 2179 to 1409 in 2 years, as well as Homer Hanna going from 2300 to 1800... -

5A state however, turns into a completely new contest with 3/4 LISD schools possibly leaving and Wakeland also maybe moving up leaving only 6 of the finalists from this year's contest to remain in the classification (Buda Hays is also going up with 2.3k enrollment)
