  1. Any recordings of Lake Travis recently?
  2. Let’s just say what needs to be said 1. Moe and Gene/Ronald Reagan (State) 2.Ronald Reagan/Moe and Gene (State) 3. Cedar Ridge (State) 4. Claudia Taylor Johnson (State) 5. Dripping Springs (state) 6. Round Rock 7. McNeil 8. James Bowie 9. Churchill 10. Westwood This is the hardest area in Texas. Someone big is going to get left out and to me it’s between dripping or round rock. Moe and Gene has good shot at winning and going to state finals to be honest, after Tmc.
  3. What the heck. Prelims at these kinda comps are always so crazy. Big factors like heat need to be considered have a definitive answer on the placements. Big congrats to westlake. If they keep anything remotely like that in finals, we might have a new state finalist in our hands.
  4. Isn’t that what exactly what I just said. If they keep “slacking” then there is huge margin for a change. And also this is not an issue with not having money or anything. Bands like cedar ridge and even McNeil don’t have crazy amounts of kids or money compared to the giants. It’s about how bad they want it. You aren’t graded on props or GE at area. Brandies also isn’t poor, their located near Helotes one of the nicest areas in San Antonio.
  5. A 5th state spot is needed very badly for this area though. Too much great talent to not be seen at that state level. This is definitely the hardest area behind area D.
  6. Lake Travis definitely seems beatable and last year it almost happened. Brandies was 1 point behind LT for prelims. It seems a breakthrough is very possible. If Brandies is even remotely better than last year then LT can’t afford to just remain complacent. we’re in for a battle coming October.
  7. This comp is wild. 1. Flower Mound 2. Hebron 3. Wakeland 4. Coppell 5. Prosper 6. Waxahachie 7. Timber Creek 8. Keller 9. Lone star 10. Aledo 11. LD bell 12. Keller Central Flower mound winning is 100 percent a high possibility. They’ve done it before not too long ago at this exact comp. Those past 2 years feel like something changed where they might go back to just straight up being state champs contenders. Hebron isn’t invincible. Still though Hebron will probably win. People keep sleeping on Prosper like they didn’t make grand finals and almost state finals. Wake land also is very clean and they show up when it matters. With the Keller’s. Timber Creek has a habit to beat Keller all season except San Antonio (happens every year it’s weird). The tradition will most likely continue. Keller is still amazing though.
  8. Prediction: going to make bold assumptions here 1. Ronald Reagan Hs (or maybe a dripping upset) 2. Dripping springs Hs 3. James Bowie HS 4. McNeil HS 5. Westlake HS 6. Louis d Brandies HS 7. Moe and Gene Johnson HS 8. Hendrickson HS 9. Claudia Taylor Johnson HS 10. Churchill HS 11. Jordan Hs 12. Steele Hs first out: Sonia Sotomayor HS Foster HS I believe Reagan getting first the safest outcome for this Boa, but it is definitely not a given. Dripping being the returning champs, I can definitely see an upset happening. James bowie is going to be amazing and can maybe even win. The top 3 will be extremely competitive. McNeil has a chance for top 3 if they really push it based on how they made finals at boa San Antonio. Westlake is going to be in the top half of finals no doubt. For the last spot in the top 6, I put Brandies. They showed that they can consistently compete at this top level from last year. They also beat Claudia Taylor Johnson and Moe and Gene last year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they come out as a major wild card. Hendrickson at 8th because I haven’t seen enough from them. With Moe and Gene’s amazing new director and Brandie’s just getting way better every year, I haven’t seen anything that really gives them the edge( I’m probably wrong but will gladly watch them be another potential wild card). Johnson at 9th is really sad for me to say, but I don’t know if they have the juice anymore. They have been really inconsistent lately and to be honest they can either come and shock everyone and make top 3 or just continue to sink. Churchill is 100 percent a finalist no doubt. Jordan, don’t know much about them but seen the show last year and yeah, I’d say they have a great shot at fitting in nice in finals. Steele being the last pick. Amazing show last year and the staff are great teachers that definitely will push them. This Boa is going to be one of the most competitive of the year. Any of the top 3 can end up winning. And 9th to 4th are going to the closest point margins ever.
  9. Heard the music for Brandies this year. It is by far the most demanding and most impressive show the school has had to date.
